Cabbage futures speculator on the Daikon Prairie.

I post mainly random stuff about life in Tokyo/Japan, as and when the mood takes me and/or I have too many pictures on my phone.
Pinned
Quick intro, as I never did one here or at the Other Place: originally from the United Kipperdom of Brexitania, but lived Elsewhere for most of my life, in Japan since the Lehman Shock (but first visit in Heisei 4). Live on a homestead on the Daikon Prairie in the west of Tokyo's 23ku.
Tell kids of today this is what our multi-monitor desktop PC setups looked like, and they won't believe you.

Damn I miss Europe sometimes. Just chilling in this grandiose breakfast buffet room in a random hotel I selected for location and price, and have been sitting here for an hour with no hassle apart from the overenthusiastic plate removal lady. Couldn't buy this experience in Japan.

My hotel room here is rather meh, but damn look at that ceiling.

Rather grand breakfast buffet room, I say.

Bonus late night public transport time lapse video. Excuse the fingers, it's been a long day.

And there, though being in an older European building I have already needed to work out the optimum technique for flushing the toilet.

Bonus local Sky Tree view though.

I think Frankfurt is slowly replacing Heathrow as my most unfavourite airport.

Signage is massively inconsistent, had to backtrack here for a sanity check as I'm heading for the A gates...

Now for the ritual "Fuck Brexit" muttering at passport control....

See you on the other side...
