Worked on some fics last night! Start a new short fic, I wanted to do a bit of pre-romance talk between Rook and Emmrich them just talking about traveling away from the Necropolis as they watch the sunset on the beach if Rivain. It does have romantic undertones but nothing like full blown.

People got issues, at the end of the day Veilguard is just a game…don’t like it? Not having fun? Hate it? Then idk, leave it alone and free up head space for stuff that gives you joy instead of threatening people who do enjoy it and are having fun…people are allowed to like different things.

Necropolis | Spirits

Two pages today! I’ll be honest—I conflated spirits with wisps while writing this and, once I realized, I was too far in to change it lol. But Emmrich mentions the gardens so that’s the necropolis, too, right? 👀💦

This page is separated into four panels: one long but narrow on top, two square panels in the middle, and one larger panel on the bottom. The page is colored in dual tones, with a dark green/gray in the background and the characters are shaded in beige tones with a turquoise highlight.

In the top panel, Laelia faces forward looking up at three wisps that float around her, saying “these wisps again… there’s so many today.”

In the next panel, there is a close up of Laelia’s face at a three-quarter view facing the right. She’s still looking up and says “They always seem to follow us on our walks.”

Next panel, Emmrich is also in three-quarter view, looking left towards Laelia. He replies “The same wisps at that, my love. From the first time I invited you to the memorial gardens.”

In the last panel, the “camera” is zoomed out, showing Laelia from the waist up and Emmrich from thighs up. He’s moved next to Laelia again with his left hand on her waist and his right hand holds the gift Manfred handed him. Manfred is on the left side of the panel, in front of Laelia and Emmrich. Laelia responds: “Oh? What are they then?”

Emmrich replies: “It took me a while to understand their exact nature, myself.”

On the next panel, Emmrich and Laelia are still in mostly the same view but the “camera” has zoomed out a bit, and all three can be seen from around knee-height. Emmrich is turned slightly, facing the camera more. Manfred is running towards the left, his hands high above his head as he plays with the wisps.

Emmrich continues: “At first, I thought they must be wisps of respect—perhaps admiration. But there was something… more. I didn’t see it at first or, perhaps, I simply couldn’t believe it. Not until we spent more time together, did their true nature begin to make sense.”
