Except....while all these things are true, said people still continue to vote the same way in the end. Until I see a long-term, consistent change in voting outcomes, I no longer pay attention to what "the people say they want" or polling numbers.

One of the most prevalent forms of Christian hypocrisy in our time is the aggressive push to legislate morality around every issue, from human sexuality to banning books to reproductive rights, then suddenly when it comes to mass shootings it's, "you just can't legislate the human heart. It's not a gun problem, it's a sin problem."

I'll definitely check out the full pod, but this clip noted the thing I both loved and loathed w/Williams last year. When he made the right decision, it looked good. But too often, he looked for the big play instead of taking what was there. Hopefully real coaching can fix that now.

According to federal data, 13 of the top 20 cities in homicide rates have Republican governors. None of those cities are Chicago.

8 of the top 10 states in homicide rates are led by Republicans. None of those states are Illinois.

I send a short letter home that explains my non-grading philosophy. And with it is a brief questionnaire titled "Tell me about your child." They get to brag on their kid a little, and I learn a little on the kid at home. The parents love it.
