And yet the American people are being told there’s “nothing to prosecute.”

If millions of files point to a global criminal enterprise that may meet the threshold for crimes against humanity, transparency and accountability aren’t optional – they’re essential.
Millions of files related to Jeffrey Epstein suggest the existence of a 'global criminal enterprise' that carried out acts meeting the legal threshold of crimes against humanity, a panel of independent experts appointed by the UN Human Rights Council says reut.rs/4rpxDfl

As we observe Lent, the holy month of Ramadan, and prepare for Passover and Easter, we’re reminded that sacred seasons call us to humility, repentance, generosity, and repair.

You don’t declare victory when families are still choosing between groceries, rent, and health care.

The real measure of the economy is whether working people feel relief at the kitchen table – and the reality is that many do not.
The White House is declaring victory on turning around the economy, after months of aides’ urging the president to find a more empathetic tone on Americans’ financial struggles.
Trump claims victory on affordability as public anxieties persist
Advisers had been encouraging the president to sound more empathetic toward struggling Americans. But as some bright spots emerge, the messaging has shifted.

Accountability shouldn’t stop at the Atlantic. If leaders in Europe can face consequences tied to the Epstein files, the American people deserve the same transparency and reckoning here at home. No one is above the law and survivors deserve justice.

Epstein files fallout takes down elite figures in Europe, while U.S. reckoning is muted
Unlike in Europe, officials in the U.S. with ties to Epstein have largely held their positions of power.

Families are already stretched thin. When Trump’s tariffs and Republicans’ rising health care costs get passed straight to consumers, working people pay the price.

We should be lowering costs, not creating new ones.

This raises serious concerns about political pressure and the independence of our media. No regulator – including the Federal Communications Commission – should be used, directly or indirectly, to chill speech.

A free press is fundamental to our democracy.
NEWS: CBS blocked Stephen Colbert from airing an interview with Texas State Rep. James Talarico and ordered him not to mention the cancellation over fear of FCC chair Brendan Carr.

Colbert went on air and revealed it anyway.

Today, we mourn the passing of my friend and a giant in the fight for justice, Reverend Jesse Jackson.
Because of his leadership, doors were opened, barriers were broken, and generations were empowered to dream bigger.

May we honor him not only with words, but with continued work.
Rest in power.

Today we honor the leaders who’ve served as President — and we remember that in America, power belongs to the people. Our democracy is strongest when leaders are held accountable and when we protect the freedoms generations fought to secure. That work continues now.

In earnings calls earlier today, investors in GEO Group and CoreCivic criticized ICE. Their chief complaint? ICE's detained population, despite hitting record highs, still isn't large enough.

ICE is out of control and needs to be reined in.

Democrats must hold the line.
The Department of Homeland Security is expected to shut down early Saturday morning as congressional Democrats and the White House remain at an impasse over new restrictions on federal immigration agents.

This Valentine’s Day, I’m sending love to immigrant families across our district & our nation. Immigrants deserve dignity, safety, and opportunity – not fear & dehumanization. I will continue fighting in Congress for humane and just immigration policies. #ToImmigrantsWithLove #IStandWithImmigrants

There is no moral justification for refusing to look survivors in the eye and apologize.

The Attorney General’s deflection and absolute despicable behavior during that hearing was deeply troubling and unacceptable.

Survivors deserve respect, transparency, accountability, and justice. Period.

You can’t repeal reality. The Endangerment Finding affirmed what scientists have made clear for decades:climate change endangers public health. Walking away from that truth won’t protect families, it just puts them at greater risk. I strongly oppose this reckless decision

Last night, I was proud to join every Democrat - and a few Republicans – to stop the tariffs on Canada. Why? Because Trump’s Tariffs are taxes, and working families are paying the price.
The House rejected an attempt to block votes that would end the national emergency underpinning President Trump’s tariffs.

Three House Republicans voted with all of the chamber’s Democrats to block the move.

A grand jury saw through this political stunt. Using the Justice Department to target political opponents is an abuse of power – full stop. We will not be intimidated because the American people deserve better.

Hostility toward consumer protection is mind-boggling.

We’re talking about shielding people from fraud, junk fees, and financial abuse. Real people feel the consequences when we weaken these protections – and that’s who I’m fighting for.

Last night the House rejected an attempt to silence oversight of Trump’s tariffs. Congress has a constitutional duty to check the executive branch – especially when working families and small businesses are paying the price.
