It's finally happened. I'm reading my school assignments at 150% zoom and typing up my notes at 125%. 👵🔍🤓

Interviewing, or facilitated conversation, really is a skill and an art. And, IMHO, often underappreciated - like good design, it goes unnoticed.

I liked this episode because it spotlights the above but also provides some very entertaining and WTF examples...

In another episode of how Bias in AI, how LLMs can create their own biases! 😬

...all kidding aside, IMHO AGI has a tendency towards all the flaws of people, so maybe we just treat its outputs the same way we'd treat the info coming from your sus uncle Bob?

This is so awful, condolences to the lost loved ones, their families and the community. ♥️🙏🏻 And gratitude to the ppl who responded and are looking after the wounded.
We were there earlier in the day. Heaps of people turned out. Who does this?! Hopefully not a hate crime but hard to think otherwise.

How are Nursing Clinician-Scientists still not a thing? Been thinking about this sporadically for the past 15 yrs & came across this award-winning essay by Martha Mackay. Some real shockers in here - like that Nursing isn't a science (!). Surprised patriarchy isn't mentioned tho😅

Two pieces of media I consumed today (see 🧵) made me realize that people don't understand that we Canadians have a lot of pride and gratitude for our nation, along with a strong moral compass. (Apart from the genocide 😅) We will stand up and mobilize when needed. Peace, order & good government. 🇨🇦

Just like magazines and makeup and TV and porn and Photoshop and IG filters, generative AI is fucking up what people think is normal.
FWIW, my advice is to skip the filters and find some genuine people to hang out with or just people watch. Beauty comes in all forms.
If you were fascinated and horrified when Jia Tolentino coined "Instagram face," you should probably read this smart and scary @sophiegilbert.bsky.social piece about the age of AI-generated face that is upon us. www.theatlantic.com/culture/arch...

This is how RoW feels about America right now. A greedy, immoral, untrustworthy, corrupt, unreliable bully of a nation. One that's purposely isolating itself because it thinks it's better than everyone else and doesn't need them. We know how that ends.

I've experienced this a bunch myself - people are fine with DEI until it rubs up against established norms. Which means it was never really DEI - it was just performative action.

"Diversity, I said, is not decoration. If it’s not challenging deeply entrenched power, diversity is only serving it."
What is the modern anti-DEI backlash really about?

The short answer? Resegregation and white supremacy—and it’s up to the media to set aside its skittishness and name it. thewalrus.ca/dei-was-always-f...

I'm on module 2 of the Indigenous Canada MOOC by @ualberta.bsky.social and it is gripping! The hx and lasting effects of the fur trade has been eye-opening and makes the closing of The Hudson's Bay even more poignant.💡 Highly recommend the course. HT Barb Langlois

IMHO this is the crux of it: "...it’s insulting because it’s violating Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki’s beliefs about AI."
ChatGPT is producing viral Studio Ghibli–style images—and the backlash has been swift. @damonberes.com talked to @ibogost.bsky.social about the memes, the copyright qualms, and the case for engaging with AI-generated art.

I find it wild & wonderful that I work in VR. I've always had an affinity for tech, but I went into Nursing as it was a sure, stable, on your feet gov't job. At the time, I thought the most crossover I'd get was with LMS'. 20 yrs ago I'd never have imagined the tech opportunities RNs have nowadays!

Weekend fun! Checked out a new bouldering gym in Richmond 🧗🏻‍♀️, had some tasty Armenian food 😋, and failed horribly at a physical challenge. So many cramps trying to get into, and then up into a seated position, from the pic you see here! 😂
