Proof of life - because I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that people notice when I'm not around.

Finally got peas to sprout. Mulched and prepped 4 spots for my Artichokes, secured the larger aviary for the quail and am embracing hermitry as a way of life.
Mostly providing proof of life because I'm hiding from the universe in my crippling anxiety, and sometimes people worry about me because they're nice.

Also, I killed my Kiwifruit plant, but I got another one. The tomatoes look massive.
The oscillation between 'fix the world!' and 'F this S, I'm out!' Weekly, daily, hourly, almost heartbeat by heartbeat, because I will never let go of the idea that the world is worth saving, but the concept that anyone could actually do it is impossible to hold on to.
In terms of actual writing, I asked a good friend 'what does your character believe that isn't true?'

My antagonist believes in a perfect state of peace that they never actually experienced. They long for a state of being that didn't really exist, and it robs them of all joy in the present.
Day 6 #Preptober I went and downloaded the newest version of yWriter. I used it for years before my Muse went AWOL - this is free software from SpaceJock (the mobile app is about $22, but the desktop version is free). It's pared back hard compared to Scrivner, but it's always worked for me.
Oh no! You were so prepared right out of the gate! Oh well, that’s why we have a whole month, and why we practice being kind to ourselves. It’s also why I write escapist garbage 😁
The whole “it can’t be that bad” thing. No matter how much we promise that it is in fact that bad, they can’t assimilate that idea. It’s too far from their experience.
It’s not the same as ‘all my bits hate each other and actively want to go their separate ways. So much so i don’t bother with the ER anymore, I can put this stuff back in at home.’

I think people have a great deal of trouble accepting disabled reality.
I see it in chronic pain circles sometimes too. A conversation about chronic joint pain from
Hypermobility will sometimes get a dismissive comment from someone who has indeed dislocated something. Once. For which they got time off and acknowledgement that this turn of events sucks.
Day 5 #preptober features a redislocated shoulder, because I'm a wild adventurer in my sleep, apparently.

It also features the mystery of a decades-old crime against an unpopular minority about whom our heroes care quite a bit. I foresee justice and shenanigans in equal measure.

Day 4 #preptober features a shoulder I dislocated in my sleep and a main character timeline that overlaps itself because time travel!

The central theme seems to be that finding someone you can admire, even for something incredibly simple, can completely change your perspective.
My little plan for #preptober, including the four areas of failure I tend to experience and what I'm doing about them. I've met my writing time goal every day so far and pulled together a scene list (wildly incomplete, of course) to help me jump in.

Love this shot of my keyboard LoL!
The creative pursuit formerly known as NaNoWriMo
In 1999, 21 people in the San Francisco Bay area decided, for reasons known only to themselves (and those of us who followed them later), to embark on a month o

Day 2 of #preptober
I haven't done my writing yet today, but I will. Today is for thinking about themes, the things in my #novelformerlyknownasnano that overlap across characters and plot threads.

Vast, cosmic events are in the works, sparked mostly by the desire to make someone proud.
It's October 1 - the beginning of #preptober where crazy writers the world over try to convince themselves it's not bonkers to take part in the creative explosion formerly known as #NaNoWriMo

I put all my background material into a folder and hyperventilated for an hour.

Good start.
Florian fixed my shredder!!!!
I just spent 5 minutes reading about the difference between input and output devices in the office for my TAFE class. I'm not sure WHY I read the document... I guess I was finished before I realised it probably wasn't required.
As always, Griffin was the most loved on creature at the vet, even in his final moments, everyone could see how beautiful he was. Good journey, little man - 9+ years is a good innings for a ferret.
If the law doesn't protect everyone, then inevitably it will protect no one. By the time this resolves, it will be a rare person who hasn't worn the consequences to some degree. I hope you aren't crushed by the weight of the things you choose to do and say between now and then.

It’s just about 10:30 at night and my eldest just made us a bowl of coco pops each and now we’re watching Bones. We have very specific spoon requirements.

#anxious and #autistic
With all the happy hippy arty people waiting for the tip shop art hall to open to peruse the bits and bobs
The Centrelink hold music is mind-numbing. My mind is numb.
I strongly suggest anyone in red shoes get off the street! It is BONKERS out there right now!
My team can't win anymore, so we should all play a different game.

Oooor, go with me for a sec, the parties could put together cogent policies that don't make us wanna scream and show some competence and leadership.
introduced Jergal the death scribe to my homebrew campaign… the cleric is his sole acolyte and he’s protective of her because of her dedication to the keeping of deaths records…

our resident artist has rendered him as ‘bug daddy’ (in his Mantis form) and now he’s a thirst trap!
