Politics, world events, culture, and, every once in a while, something gratuitously silly. Good discussions wanted. NOT looking for online pals. Lastly, I Will NOT chat (DM, or PM), unless I otherwise know you.

Why the secret about this?
Senate Repubs could - by simple majority vote -
suspend the filibuster, as it applies to the debt ceiling.
They could then pass their own CR without a single Dem vote.
Why is this fact, this FACT, going unreported day after day??
WHY?

Re-state, rewrite, re-post.
The Electoral College is DEI for Red States.
That is, mixed economies with a strong capitalistic component.
Neither of these historical cases qualify as an example of communism. They were cases of a single autocrat controlling centrally planned economies. You can call a goldfish a dog, but that doesn't turn the fish into a dog. (BTW, I favor mixed economies functioning within democratic republics.)
If he can amend our Constitution, he could do it.

Otherwise, an affront.

Historically, the closing of the legislative body has never been very good for constitutional rule.

- The main motive for Republicans continuing the shutdown?

- They could get easily get their CR passed after a simple majority sponsored rules change.

No pipe dream to say, they could run the table.

You think, you think this is about the Epstein files. That may be the way it began. Dictators love to dissolve legislative bodies.

We're whistling past the graveyard when we say, MAGA will not be in power forever.

By hook, but more likely by crook, that is exactly what they intend.

And so, we look to the 26 elections, hoping not to diminish them by our words.
Do CBS News executives understand that MAGA will not be in power forever? I genuinely think this is lost on a lot of people. They've gotten scammed by bad actors into believing Trump's 2024 win represented something seismic and even permanent. I predict they'll look back on this as a serious error.
CBS News current president Tom Cibroski praised Weiss on the call, saying "Bari's energy and passion is infectious and you will feel it, big time." He also added that the Free Press and CBS News "are going to learn a lot from each other...that's what this is all about."
This isn't where we are headed, Bill. This is only a phase we're going through. It gets darker going through the ones ahead.
"This is where we’ve been headed since Jan. 6.

The man who fomented an actual insurrection will invent a fantasy insurrection to justify overturning the rule of law & deploying the military against civilians.

The thing about Rubicons is they can’t be uncrossed."

We aren’t at the worst-case scenario yet. But if you squint, you can see it looming out there, just over the horizon.

Historically, the closing of the legislature has never been good for constitutional rule.
Mike Johnson has now had the House adjourned for 72 of the last 84 days.

Epstein Shutdown.
So, what's to keep our gaping hole of a president from doing a re-mo on the whole DC Mall, from tearing down the Washington Monument, or demolishing the Lincoln Memorial?

Sentiment? Is it nothing but sentiment??
President Shit Dumper
That's captures it pretty well.
Me too.
I was very confused when nobody at my insurrection today used their flags to beat any police officers.

Directly or indirectly, John Roberts is responsible for every lost freedom in the last decade in the United States.
