ASOIAF is not grimdark, it is not hopeless or cynical, it is not "good guys die while bad guys get off scot free," it's the popularization of the show that makes people view the books like this

I could talk for a while about the vampires of #EverdarkWIP. Vampires are only made/contracted, not born. The ones we meet in book 1 are angry and queer. The MC absolutely adores the romanticism vampires have in books, but when he becomes one he finds out there's more to them than that!

The Whitestone Ziggurat is a location in the Dungeons and Dragons web series Critical Role and animated series The Legend of Vox Machina. This image shows a
digital illustration of a necromantic ritual taking place atop a tiered pyramid with a long staircase leading to a structure at the top. Some of the tiers also feature rows of stone arches with carved details. There are tall, thin pillars on each corner of the pyramid with hollow stone circles on top. Chains wrap around the circles and lead through the open windows of the upper structure. A green beam of magical energy erupts vertically from the structure and out of the windows. Behind the ziggurat are cave walls and ceiling with stalactites, in front are and tree roots and rocks close to the viewer that frame the image. There is a low-lying teal mist at the base.
