When I met Harley she was on a high shelf & immediately went into a scared crouch position. I slowly offered my hand. She relaxed. Best feeling ever when a timid cat turns fear into trust. She watched me leave with sad eyes that said - Don't leave. That's the hard part of volunteering. #cat

As a shelter volunteer for 8 years I can vouch for the many, many animals I have met (and loved) who have ended up in the shelter thru no fault of their own. The ones who have gone thru tough times are the most resilient and loving and grateful animals who make the *best* friends.
