Bit of self-promotion: I have published a commentary on a selection of Martial's epigrams, so if you are a Latin teacher/instructor...or a fan of having Latin grammar and rhetorical devices analyzed...feel free to check it out.

My book is out! Medieval Responses to Ovid's Exile, with Cambridge UP @universitypress.cambridge.org.

I am so grateful to the friends, family, colleagues, librarians and archivists who helped along the way. Nervous and excited to see it in the world!

So in five years it will be time for the third cycle of Battlestar Galactica.

Is anyone who does TV making sure this happens?

I keep finding errors in my commentary, despite looking over it too many times to count. At least most seem to be formatting now, rather than content.

Though I bought it a while ago, I finally started listening to The Garak Deep Space Nine novel "A Stitch in Time," written and narrated by Andrew Robinson, and oh wow I have missed more DS9.

Garak truly is one of my favorite characters in all of fiction.

I can scarcely imagine a better holiday gift than that of grammatical help with Latin morphology!

Ok so I have to find a way to justify buying the new Lego Enterprise D as TNG is easily my first favorite tv show and a huge influence on me becoming a space communist.

Yesterday was my sixteen year quit-a-versary from WoW.

It had quite a hold on me: I /played 362 days over a four year period.

Top new release?! I know it’s in a niche genre, but I’ll celebrate when I can these days.

I’m so grateful to everyone who encouraged me along the way and to everyone who has purchased this!

I keep thinking about this comment. Just bizarre to think of someone being a fan of the optimates.
Best piece of criticism I have ever received

I wish I had the ability to make playlists for TV shows on streaming services or have a "pick random episode of this TV show" button.

I need some Star Trek, but picking an episode takes like half the time I set aside for it!

Why isn't this just an option already?

I’ll forever love that Denny’s named their festival of adding bacon to things the ‘Baconalia’.

Just amazing.

I ordered author copies of my commentary to send to my parents as soon as it published. They haven't even been shipped yet.

But my coworker who bought it has it already?!

Come ooooooooon!

My wife works at a primary care office and was trying to report fraud today...but the government shut down means the place you report fraud to the FTC is down.

I know it isn't nearly the most important consequence of the shut down, but it's depressing that I keep finding out more of them.

My pre-viewing guess as to why he failed: he went woke.

Will update as to whether or not I was correct.
Hannibal’s tactical masterstroke at Cannae was the capstone of a brilliant Italian campaign against the Romans and their allies, but it was not enough to win the war. This video explains why Hannibal failed despite battlefield success:

Because history is so often written by the victors, it’s difficult to discuss ancient history without making the Romans our protagonists- this week we look at the life and career of Persian king Shapur I, discussing why his achievements surpassed his Roman rivals

Buy this book, it’s great!

If you’re at all interested in the history of Roman social movements from the perspective of the masses then this is an incredibly valuable text
I don’t like giving money to Bezos or advocating for buying books from Amazon, but they are selling my book for $3.83 today—in hardback (as opposed to $35). The paperback will be out in January, so I guess they are fire 🔥 selling their stock. In case you are interested www.amazon.com/Strike-Labor...
