In Lansdowne 2.0 news, construction vehicles are on site with work expected to begin this week.

This will be the first phase of the plan, which will include, among other smaller items, work on the new events centre, where the Ottawa Charge are slated to play.

In one of my all-time favourite quotes, Ottawa Charge defender Rory Guilday had this to say about her first professional goal:

“Sometimes you’ve just got to rip it; in that moment, I wasn’t thinking of much else.”

“Rip it” she did, and what a goal it was.

Stryker Zablocki has been named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month.

Through 17 games this season, Zablocki has seven goals and 18 points. This month alone, she has two game winning goals, and has played great defensively, including five blocked shots.

Well, the good news is that at least in that period, Ottawa had some really good chances, and now lead in shots on goal.

The bad news? The game remains 3-0 in favour of the other side.

Tough opening frame for the Charge, as they never looked settled, from Philips to the defence, to the forwards.
