Actually, under Medicare we all take a cognitive test once a year. It consists of repeating a series of several words and/or looking at pictures and identifying within seconds or similar tests which any 5 yr old could do.

True. And that is the sad crux of the matter- a turn of phrase and/or word choice colors an entire journalistic endeavor. Likewise the headline. " Jobs report cites GAIN of 22k jobs" as opposed to " Jobs report cites 50k fewer jobs than expected"

The reporting is still pretty good although editing affects word choice. Likewise, CNN has some great podcasts although the TV news programs are no longer watchable.
