Absolutely massive win for #NUFC - & thoroughly impressive display. 2nd goal changed game, they grew from that point.

So many encouraging displays, & changes largely all positive. Confidence-boosting for Elanga, Miley, Woltemade. Thiaw immense again.

Absolutely huge 1st half for #NUFC - & Eddie Howe's changes on his birthday have been influential. Miley, Elanga & Woltemade have all scored &/or assisted. Hall excellent, too.

Crucial getting a 2nd goal when Everton were on top. Have built & grown from it.

Refreshing.

An increasingly vocal section of Newcastle supporters are calling for Nick Pope to be dropped, given he, like other senior players, continues to underperform away, despite usually excelling at home.

His latest mistake at the Stade Velodrome was as inexplicable as it was damaging.

Full-time: Marseille 2-1 #NUFC

A fast start & a formation change led to #NUFC taking an early lead, but the game became chaotic, before Pope's mistake allowed Aubameyang in - & then he scored again.

4th straight away defeat, 3rd after taking the lead. Much to ponder.
