Nick Woltemade's all-round performance last night was better than his goal. Some lovely first-time touches, physicality and eager defending. Scrappy match actually suited Germany probably more than N Ireland, who have ball-players despite what Julian Nagelsman says. www.nytimes.com/athletic/671...

I suppose it's possible, though also seems like a big opportunity for him.

For a while he had/has been open to moving on. Unsure on the situation now though.

That's part of the idea, hopefully!

He also won't be able to play, beyond in the Carabao Cup.

I entirely understand the caution you feel. I share it to a degree. But the foundations are there & Newcastle are building as they go.

Wide defensive areas they are definitely going to be stretched.

Elanga, with coaching, I have confidence can come good. Joelinton is a bit up & down ATM.

Matchday PotT tonight. Canny week.

Full-time: #NUFC 2-0 #NFFC

Very important win for #NUFC heading into international break.

Laboured through 1st half, had chances to score more in 2nd as game opened up.

Guimaraes' solo goal crucial, Woltemade's pen emphatic. Another clean sheet.

2 big wins in 5 days.

Interesting description. You failed to mention the finish in it, though.
