The pencils, pens, and notebooks were all gateway drugs to this magnificent little machine.

Just purchased this Olympia SM5 this week and it is in immaculate condition 🀩

This has got to be one of the funniest quotes from a Trumper I've ever heard πŸ˜‚

This was a timely quote for me today.

"How do I know what I think until I see what I say?" -EM Forster

Heard on @jdickerson.bsky.social's Navel Gazing podcast (hoping we get a 2nd season).

I've been testing out a bunch of pencils lately. Including Musgraves, Mitsubishis, and other hardnesses of Blackwings. After all of that, the 602 still feels different than all of those.

I know a lot of folks would say they are overpriced. but I do love their balance of smoothness and tactility.

One man's pencil shavings is another man's potpourri.

Seriously though. These are from some Tennessee reds and smell amazing πŸ˜†

More to come?

I'm feeling like I need to get back into doing ink and watercolors.

I've been inspired by Miyazaki's storyboards lately as well as Beatrix Potter's illustrations.

Here's some of my old stuff.

Just discovered Noted on Substack by Jillian Hess.

I especially love that there are posts sharing Bob Dylan's notes right alongside the notebooks of fellow readers of the blog.

I can see how some folks might think it is too predictable. But, in my opinion, there are still plenty of surprises; none of which feel cheap or unearned.

If you're looking for some fun tolkienesque fantasy, I recommend checking this series out.

The races are familiar β€” humans, elves, dwarves, giants, and goblins all make appearances. But the setting is not β€” humans have not even entered into the bronze age at the start.

The story is not emotionally draining. I find myself energized to find out what happens next in our heroes adventures.

I just started on book 3 of the "Legends of the First Empire" series by Michael J Sullivan. It's been a long time since I've been so hooked on a series.

There's a lot to like about these books.

Love spending Sunday mornings building with the family.

This is the WIP pirate ship scene built with my 6 year old.

I started watching Hilda with my oldest.

This is one of those children's cartoons that is way better than it needs to be. Cozy, whimsical, and a wonderful story.

While I've always been a casual fan of Lego, my wife gifting me the D&D set has turned me into a full fledged AFOL.

No I'm waiting patiently for Lego to release a dark blue classic space helmet and air tank for my pieces together Spaceman.

Just got around to ordering a pack of Sarasa R pens to try out. I do like them more than the Dry (a little smoother stroke in my Traveler's notebook) but I still prefer the original Clip refill. The less saturated black just looks classier to me 🀷
