Free international sports on tvnz and then prime, that’s the way, mate
I only just started looking at schools as a place where my kids could learn about some of our indigenous history. It’s a simple shift back to understanding that part of my role as a parent is to undo some of the racism embedded in to our education system, and public sphere at large. Fuck em.
On the day of He Whakaputanga and remembering the NZ wars it’s coincidental to the point of planned, going off the character of that party and leader.

Can’t go post when it’s ongoing etc
Don't see the new Aotearoa NZ histories curriculum online yet. But Act are already crowing about having gutted it.

Dunno, you tank your job and then criticise the other party’s plan. It almost becomes an endorsement of it for onlookers…..
As well as he whakaputanga day, it’s the day where we are supposed to remember the NZ wars, which to me were more defining to the nature of this country than WW1. But let’s see how many politicians actually talk about that today.
Forever and a day, fuck that genocide enabling PoS
The most centrist, on the fence, punch-pulling, could-have-done-many-things-to-prevent-this-outcome-and-repeatedly-chose-not-to line ever, no notes.

Sometimes you need a night where you drink all the beers in the fridge. Good for the soul
Appreciate tf out of him for picking up the ‘today is not the year’ eyes
I don’t know what level i have unlocked but had a doorknocker who, after me opening the door and looking at them, said “i’ve caught you on a busy night!” and then left with me giving a wave.

That’s an interaction i can get behind

Same fucking day a Civil Defence Emergency is preemptively declared for Canterbury because anthropic caused climate change has intensified our spring storms, the absolute climate criminals in Govt pull this stunt

They should never be forgiven for destroying the planet

Climate reporting rules for large businesses to be eased
Banks, credit unions, building societies and insurers would still be required to report.

Kids home, loud and interrupting. Will look down on Mum’s home and like everyday think of that horrible fucking month and a half from diagnosis to passing. And i think of the teachers and health professionals i have engaged with this year who need more $$, resourcing, and a govt who gaf. Solidarity

Solidarity with everyone striking today.

“The strikers I've spoken to are striking because they are being put into situations that are against their moral code. Unsafe situations from classrooms to emergency departments. They're understaffed and under-resourced, which means they cannot do what they chose their professions to do.”
“Why should those in caring professions be the only ones to shoulder this burden? How can we help? What can we do?

That's why I'm asking you to show up in any way you can - whether it's attending an event tomorrow, posting on social media accounts (#Oct23Strike), or writing to your MP…” #nzpol
100 reasons to support the mega strike
Are you ready to show up? Tomorrow, more than 100,000 nurses, doctors, teachers, health workers, dentists, social workers, support staff, and teacher aides will strike. It's believed to be the larges...

Shame on this government for the deeply racist Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) Amendment Act, just passed into law.
TBH, i didn’t know this man was a ‘well known NZer’ except for the cases of sexual assault he has been convicted of. So maybe less of ‘well known NZer’ and more ‘convicted sex offender and ex-ACT Party President’ is more apt….
"former ACT Party President Tim Jago"
Well-known New Zealander charged with indecent assault can be named
And that trying to leverage off of the timing of year to pit parents against those who are teaching our kids is gross, lazy and completely on par with this govt’s dealing with industrial relations.
I just don't think the government really grasp how much support the public have for the teachers

Beautiful day today. Picked the kids up from school, went to the cemetery to see how Mum’s grave is subsiding and to say hi to the other assorted family in hers and the next plot. Love our regular jaunts there
