We're excited to share AB 607 passed out of the Senate Human Services Committee with a 5-0 vote! This bill will strengthen California's home visiting program and allow more families with kids under 5 to receive critical support!
The U.S. Department of Educationβs withholding of over $810 million in CA education funding is a direct attack on equity and opportunity. Blocking these funds harms the students who need support the most.
Congress must intervene and compel the Dept. of Education to release the funds. Immediately.
AB 291 is off to the Senate Education Committee! ππ
This bill will help create teacher apprenticeship programs that provide mentorship & compensation while opening up opportunities for many more qualified candidates to become teachers. πͺ
SB 363 is off to the Assembly Health Committee! πππ
This bill will require health plans to report all denials of surgical, medical, and behavioral health care (including for kids) and allow California to fine those that erroneously deny care. πͺ
