I can't wait to see the numerous allies On Here trying to score social points by claiming they're boycotting Fortnite if Harry Potter is in it, rather than because they don't play Fortnite in the first place.

Wish me luck—The Scottish Boy (+ a new, similar book!!!) is out on sub to publishers, hoping to find a new home post-Unbound.

The book sold out 3 print runs & did big audio numbers on word of mouth, so I hope a new publisher can build on that. If you liked the book, pls RT 💕 synopsis in alt txt

I watched yer auld pal @nightmaremodego.bsky.social play the demo and it looked absolutely rancid in just about every way.

On the plus side, it has encouraged me to finally try properly getting into the original. Maybe this will send them a message.
If you never played it, Let It Die was one of the most wildly creative games of our time. My favorite fun-fact is that the tracks on the Let It Die OST are commissioned by different artists and are all called 'Let It Die'

This is a real kick in the gut, worse than Deathverse
The Let it Die sequel - Let it Die: Inferno - which is coming out next week (4th December), seems to have been built using a considerable amount of generative AI. https://bit.ly/4ol7lIA

Do you know a relatively well seasoned Community Manager looking for work?

Does this person like shit posting, understands charities, can corporate speak AND has experience in marketing technology? Probably not, but hey I'd take one or two of them?

Reach out! I am looking to hire someone soon.

To heal our divided nation I propose splitting Game of the Year awards into two categories:

- Game of the Year That’s 3D and You Use a Sword and/or Gun to Explode a Guy
- Game of the Year That’s Some Gay Bullshit Indie Meditation on Grief or Whatever

We had an in-depth talk with GameMaker about how and why we made BIRDCAGE, learning to make games, and why we used GameMaker. Check it out!
POLYGON BIRD Games debut title BIRDCAGE is an explosive fast-paced shoot 'em up.
The development journey is the story of how Barry and Giannis learned to make a video game together.

I'd appreciate if any audio tech folks could help circulate this exciting call for a fully-funded PhD position working in multichannel audio design for galleries.

It's part of an ARC funded project 'From Noise to Signal: Improving Sonic Experiences in the Gallery'

I'm gonna be that one person who says that Milligan, LeMire and DeMatteis' Justice League Dark run had some of the best Constantine writing outside of Hellblazer.
While I think it's hard to argue that Si Spurrier and Aaron Campbell's work is the best of the modern era I feel like Tynion, Doyle and Rossmo's DCYou run gets super slept on and is about as good as "John Constantine is an active presence in the DC Universe" can possibly be
Who writes the best John Constantine?

Jamie Delano and Paul Jenkins are my personal favorite runs, but those are from decades ago. Who's been doing good work with ol' Conjob recently?

I have no idea why I'm unable to add a discount for Charnel House & Richard & Alice for the Black Friday sale, maybe cos I was in the horror sale recently, but it's not even an option in the backend for me. Maybe it's American games only? Who knows.

This is absolutely phenomenal. As someone who's always been a fucking loudmouth about properly crediting people and making it clear what they've done, this is a step beyond even my very high expectations. I'd buy the game for this if I didn't already have it.
We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

Hit portrait artist and game developer Ivan Ulyanov's favorite video game is Mistmare.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

If you play the hit Gamejolt adventure game Tourist 'backwards', and then do the most stupid interaction ever conceived in a point and click game, you get a pin-up polaroid of the fictional developer in her underwear, thanking Lang from Charnel House for a great night of passion.

Richard & Alice has an entire, fully written 6th ending in which [REDACTED] returns from the dead and reveals that he is in fact an alien dog who runs a utopia under the sea. It was the longest of the game's endings, and the requirements to get it were nearly impossible.

We cut it because duh.

In The Charnel House Trilogy, the green balloon item was originally intended to have a use that led to an entire optional sequence of events, but @threeohfour.bsky.social vetoed it for being too good*.

In The Labyrinth of Time, entering the Ziggurat without a lantern is supposed to show a black screen. However, the developers put in the wrong filename for the black screen, so it fails to render, showing a black screen instead

Chappell Roan's look at her Corona Capital 2025 performance is a fucking MOOD. It's hard to tell in any of the still images online, but she has very bloodstained teeth. Her costume was intended to be 'a screaming banshee' and she nailed it.
