It is feeling very festive at Glynn House this week.

The pupils have been making Christingle oranges and Pomanders as well as decorating Christmas biscuits.

As part of our first THRIVE tutor session, Glynn House students competed in the spaghetti marshmallow tower building challenge.

The winning groups tower was 91.5cm and was able to withstand a fan on the highest setting. Very impressive!

Some of our Year 11 Glynn House students went to HFC yesterday morning and were treated to a backstage tour to give them an insight of different career opportunities in the world of theatre and performance.

Jane Kirkham- MP for Truro and Falmouth visited us this week at Glynn House to discuss our provision. She was very impressed with the high standard of work of our pupils during her visit.

We have been making a great start to our science lessons at CHES this term. Here we have a student using a microscope to look at onion cells and then making a model of a cell using various materials. 🦠🧅

On Weds, we were joined by Claudia from GEL Energy, telling us all about the UK's first geothermal powerstation at United Downs near Redruth. It was a really informative and interesting session.

Claudia is also running a session for our online Y10 next week.

On 'Wave Rangers' last week students were looking at and identifying different animal and plants at Godrevy. Some of our highlights were; pyramid orchards, sand martins, lizards and Roe deer.

Fi's student made some lovely marbled fimo keyrings yesterday. She came up with lots of great ideas on what to make. Don't they look great?
