Heat took hold and a pale, purple smoke floated, languid, from its end. - After putting down one of her henchmen, Caitlyn finds herself at the end of a shimmer-laced cigarette once again.

Namely, you can't get to the top without stepping on a few necks. Her aim as a marksman was feared, that much was for sure, but when she got that look in her eye? It wasn't the One-Eyed Wolf that should be feared, but the fierce loyalty of her dogs who wouldn't hesitate to tear a man apart if their loving master so commanded it.

Chembaron Caitlyn holds her pistol to Sheriff Marcus' head. A bruise is on his cheek from where she pistol whipped him in the face. She stands tall over him, her posture imposing, her eyepatch covering the eye his actions ruined. Pink shimmer smoke wafts through the air of the factory they are standing in. Sheriff Marcus is on his knees, pleading. "Hello, Marcus," the once kind and noble Caitlyn said, stepping from the shadows of the factory, her prized pistol in her grip. She twirled it around her finger, one, two, three times, a confident movement in her step as she approached the corrupt sheriff. "I prefer rifles, usually, they're cold, precise, no need to get myself dirty in the trenches with the enemy. But pistols—" she switched the grip to hold the pistol by the barrel and slammed the pommel against his cheekbone, "pistols are personal." The sheriff was always a cowardly man, caring more for station than honor and the other things the position demanded, and he collapsed to his knees, an attempt to placate the One-Eyed Wolf. The girl who became the monster he made. She raised her pistol, leveling it between his eyes. "Please, I have a daughter," he pleaded, a tremble in his voice. He had no doubt she'd kill him without a second thought. "So did my parents." A shot rang out, followed by a heavy thud as his body fell lifeless before her. And then nothing. Caitlyn felt nothing, the shot didn't bring her parents back, it didn't undo the pain. She was just as empty as she was before.

Chembaron Caitlyn Week - Day 4 - Prison

Caitlyn was imprisoned after being framed for the death of her parents and the killing of the two enforcers who broke into her home. It was the start of the end for the girl who was once kind.

Caitlyn Kiramman stands at the bars of her prison cell, a bandage over her left eye that is bloody, a shimmer pink tear running out from under the bandage. The glowing pink veins of the shimmer infection peek out from under the bandage. Her face and left hand are covered with bloody cuts. Her good eye is wide with fear, staring out at the viewer pleading for help. She is alone and afraid as she clutches the bars of her cell. The top part of her prisoner number peeks out from the bottom of the screen: 616. Caitlyn Kiramman, inmate 616, arrested for the murder of two Enforcers and the suspected murder of her parents. Only, that wasn't quite right at all. Caitlyn insisted over and over that it was self defense, she didn't know they were Enforcers, and even if she did, it changes nothing, they killed her parents, so she grabbed the gun her mother dropped and shot them dead. It took all the strength she had after they nearly killed her too. Barely had a chance to get patched up before more of Marcus' men burst through the large front doors, shouting and screaming at her to get on the ground. There was no energy left to fight, and hardly any will. Her parents were dead, and any illusions she had that the Enforcers were meant to be the good guys were killed in that moment. Caitlyn Kiramman, inmate 616, had lost any sense of hope she had in the world. And when the shock died down, that hope was replaced with pain and a mighty thirst for vengeance, for justice.

After escaping Stillwater Keep with Vi, Caitlyn immediately sought means to establish the woman she felt she's become after the tragedy. She assumed the moniker of the One-Eyed Wolf, she fully intended to be ruthless against the other Chembarons, especially Silco and her former boss, Sheriff Marcus. She would be the wolf that devours the snakes. On her upper left arm, she got a tattoo of a one-eyed wolf devouring a snake with leaves surrounding it. Behind the wolf's head, a broken symbol of house Kiramman, the keys remaining but the Ks removed. There was no Caitlyn Kiramman anymore, she died with her family. An unintentional mod was her eye having been severely infected with shimmer during the incident, the eye was grossly damaged and shimmer had gotten into the wound during the attack, shimmer that was intended to frame her for something nefarious.

The aftermath of the attack on her estate left her battered and nearly dead. Her treatment in Stillwater Keep did little if anything at all to ease the pain or heal the wounds, physical or mental. When they escaped, Caitlyn found there were some healers who knew how to ease the pain that wracked her body, especially her now blind eye. How unfortunate, that the thing she was trying to fight before all of this, had become something she reluctantly clung to just so she could manage the pain.

Caitlyn was getting too close to revealing Silco and Marcus' alliance, and thus, she had to be dealt with. The plan was just to set Caitlyn up for a crime, ruin her credibility, lock her away. But things went wrong, the corrupt officers that broke into the Kiramman manor accidentally killed Caitlyn's parents, and gravely injured the young Kiramman scion, costing her an eye. But Caitlyn wasn't going to go out without a fight, she grabbed her rifle and killed the officers, and upon realizing they had been her colleagues, her suspicions grew. Marcus couldn't let this get out, he pinned the entire thing on Caitlyn, using his power as sheriff to lock her away immediately. After months in Stillwater Keep, conspiring with a young inmate named Vi, the two of them made an escape. Caitlyn promised Vi she would help her find her sister Powder, if Vi helped her seek revenge on Silco and Marcus. To fight Silco, she would play his games, rival him, push him down and out. If only she didn't start to lose herself along the way.

The storm howled through the open chambers of the temple of Janna, a benevolent maelstrom that cleaved through the pervasive blanket of Gray that usually inhabited the crumbling walls. Maryam shivered and pulled her threadbare robes closer to herself as she made the rounds to check on the candles. In all the years that she had been caretaker to the, never had the wind blown the candles out; a benediction that was granted by Janna herself. However, she had a duty to the temple and to the faithful to ensure that the small sparks of devotion stayed lit despite the ache in her bones. She puttered around slowly, so engrossed in her task that she almost missed the lone figure sitting in quiet contemplation. “This is no weather for even the most faithful to be out here,” Maryam said kindly to the figure. “Come, child. Let's get you out of the storm lest you catch your death.” The figure rose gracefully - tall and svelte, her simple but well maintained clothes fluttering in the wind. A bright blue eye looked at Maryam from under the hood of the robe, and the woman in front of her gave her a small smile in return. “And yet you tend to the faithful, alone,” she said in Maryam's native Shuriman, a hint of the polished consonants of topside peeking through the rough burr of the dialect. It was unexpected, this far down in the sumps. Most topsiders strayed no further than the Temple to Janna in the Entresol level, but Maryam would not deny a follower, no matter where they hailed from. “Ah, but my life is sworn in service, and there is much to do,” Maryam said lightly, leading the woman towards the warmth of enclosed walls. A gentle hand stopped her, and she looked up questioningly to see a shy look cross the woman's face as a gloved hand held out a wrapped bundle of robes towards her. The woman smiled once more. “That there is, amma. Please, let me help.”
