Been reminiscing on the place that pretty much defined all of my interests. Kim's Video. This was a chain in NYC that closed in 08'. Me and my dad would come here weekly to rent something from its massive import section in the basement. My love of anime and toku started here.

Still believe one of the most impressive feats of Imagawa's career as a screen writer and director was taking a memorable and fun if very surface layer villain in Baron Ashura and turning them into the most layered character from the entire cast in his interpretation of Mazinger

Yeah im thinking about a full 20 minutes of the Mazinger retrospective when it drops are going to be dedicated to discussing what I believe Imagawa was saying with the finale of Shin Mazinger and how the following decade only proved him right time and again.
