#FirstBirdOfMyDay: is the same as yesterday: Gulls cruising on the breeze against a cloudy sky - with added rain for variety!
Miserable weather this morning but that didn’t bother this tiny sea slug.

So much incredible #marinelife on our UK shores 🦑
#FirstBirdOfMyDay: Gulls cruising on the breeze against a cloudy sky
#FirstBirdOfMyDay: a Blue Tit & friends feasting on aphids in the climbing rose
I think this may be the theme, at least for a couple of days: #FirstBirdOfMyDay in semi-darkness, the Robin sings his morning welcome. Spot him silhouetted in the tree.
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : in semi-darkness, the Robin sings his morning welcome. Spot him silhouetted in the tree.
Another grey & damp morning is brightened by
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : a Robin on the top of the fence; against a background of reddening Acer & a foreground of brilliant yellow/orange dahlia flowers. All bringing morning joy.
Another grey & damp morning
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : a skein of Canada Geese honking their way low across the field & then off over the houses.
A generally grey & damp morning
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : restless Wood Pigeons in the field; some flying out, some flying in.
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : Robins are still first in the garden. Singing morning till night. Chasing posses of Blue Tits & generally throwing their weight around.
A ‘red’ themed morning #FirstBirdOfMyDay : Robin (snap!) in full voice from the, now crimson, Amelanchier. Adding in the majestic Red Kite, cruising so low over our heads, on its morning survey of the neighbourhood.
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : a pair of quarrelsome young Goldfinches on the feeder. Clearly the seeds are always better on the side your sibling is on!
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : a Rook heading out across the field on this damp, grey, Hertfordshire morning
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : a very soggy Wood Pigeon - clearly having had a morning bath - now preening under its wing, in full sun, whilst balancing on the top of a neighbour’s tree.
So lovely. Always a point of connection - lovely to share
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : a Blue Tit braving the feeders as the leaves that have turned are ripped from the trees
The garden is damp, raindrops dripping from branches. I can hear more birds than I can see. There are Goldcrests but #FirstBirdOfMyDay : are three (Mediterranean?) Gulls, wheeling high above, calling to one another.

#FirstBirdOfMyDay : a delight of Chaffinch visitors. Three alighted in the deeply reddening Amelanchier which is glowing in the morning sunlight
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : a Dunnock twitching away in the hedge. The must use up a lot of energy, always on the move.
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : a happy group of Goldfinches & Blue Tits feasting at the seed feeder this bright autumn morning
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : on opening the curtains, I was greeted by the fluffy feathered underside of a Wood Pigeons leaving the roof above at speed. Up in the clear blue sky its kin go about their early morning adventures.
#FirstBirdOfMyDay : quiet in the garden but the ever present Wood Pigeons are up above in the sunny sky. Just the occasional one going about its mission purposefully.
