A cut *and* vinegar! Ouch!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery and happy quilting

The relief and joy of a far away friend sending a pic of the socks you knitted them, gushing about how well they fit and how much they love them 😊 #knitsky #sockknitting #knitting

Saturday plans got cancelled, the weather is crap, so on with the next project! Managed to squeeze these French Navy Langston trousers out of this leftover twill. Hopefully, a wearable mock-up for the denim pair! #sewing #garmentsewing #sewsky

Thank you! I love the fabric so much.

New favourite thing I've made! Wasn't getting on with the 70's western shirt, so decided to use this McCalls pattern I've made before & drafted my own yoke. Fabric was a remnant, so happy I was able to get the cowgirl on both sleeves. Brain on collar=happy accident #sewing #garmentsewing #sewsky

Weekend sewing plans on hold because I'm sick. Knitting these socks for a good friend because my brain can't handle anything more than stockinette stitch right now. First time making men's socks. As a UK size 4 foot, these seem so massive to me! #knitting #sockknitting #knitsky

Glad this is a mock up, because I have really fucked up this collar. I should have traced on the stitch lines. The point where the stand meets the collar was pure guesswork and my guess was wrong! I'm now not really sure I like how it sits anyway. Time for a rethink. #sewing #garmentsewing #sewsky

They look some comfy. I'm sure I'll end up with more one pair!

I spent the day with my mum at The Creative Craft Show. Made it out with only a modest haul! I've had my eye on this pattern on Threadloop for a while. The stand had a pair made up in the gauze fabric, and it looked so good. So I had to get some to give it a go #sewing #garmentsewing #sewsky
An overalls sewing pattern, small tin with a vintage design, multi coloured yarn, a seam ripper and snips. All resting on a rust coloured gauze fabric

2 knitting projects: one sock that is currently just 3" of leg cuff, and a vintage sweater I've been working on for about a year. In sewing, I only have 1 shirt on the go, as long as we're not counting the ever growing 'I'll finish it later' pile in the corner.....

This is the pattern. Currently working on a mock-up using some leftover shirt fabric. I haven't gotten as far as the collar yet!
Simplicity 9923 vintage pattern envelope. Western style shirt pattern

It's the first time I've ever come across this, and I've made a lot of collared shirts. The pattern is a western/cowboy shirt, so I guess it's kind of in-between a tailored and relaxed fit? Guess we'll see how it turns out!

Personally, I'd make everything on simplicity 7344 and wear it constantly. Love some 80's activewear!

The pattern may be old, but this is a new one for me. Collar and stand as one piece? OK, 1970s Simplicity. Seems bonkers, but OK. #sewing #garmentsewing #vintagesewing

I finally blocked some socks. Yarn: Mind the Gap by Trailing Clouds. Self striping in the colours of the London Underground lines, which makes my inner train nerd happy. Added the purple contrasts for the Elizabeth Line. Pattern: Electric Side by Rhy Flower Knits #knitting #sockknitting

Same. My dialogue would essentially be one long beep

I've been on a #sockknitting kick lately (I'll post pics when I get round to blocking them!), so asked family to buy me hand-dyed yarn for my birthday last week. And boy, did they deliver! Some lovely colour choices here. Especially love the one on the right from my husband. #knitting

I wanted to get so much sewing done this Bank Holiday. It's nearly 6pm and all I've managed is cutting out 2 tops! I would be so awful on the sewing bee! #sewing #garmentsewing

I still have a lot of work to do to get my sewing space refresh finished, but so far, I'm loving the new sewing desk. Having the sewing plate the same height as the desk and the extra space for the fabric to lie when under the machine......game changer!

Sherry is so precious! I'm sure she's going to love that quilt.

I've really lost my sew-jo recently. Reasons include: 1, A little niggle in my shoulder when hunching over my shitty "sewing table" (a re-purposed shelf unit!). 2, my workspace is an inefficient mess that stresses me out! Decided to redesign the space & treat myself. Wish me luck!
Disassembled sewing table still in its packaging with instruction booklet resting on top

I'm all for the stretchy, comfy waistbands!

Small hacks: changed the jersey waistband to a shirred one with elastic at the hem. Added side seam pockets, which the shop bought don't have, but will leave them off the next pair as they drag a bit. Will make another pair with the caramel colour fabric under the pattern envelope.
