“What world do they live in” is a really insulting and dismissive thing to say to climate scientists.

I have to conclude he resorts to the insult because he has no substantive reply to their concerns and doesn’t wish to engage in what could be a really productive dialogue.1/2

NEWS: Federal agents crashed with woman’s car, pointed guns at her, dragged her out by legs, tossed her in a minivan, held her and (eventually) let her go without charges. This as Chicagoans say the immigration blitz is out of control. (DHS blames her.)

He ignores the impacts on non-human ecosystems and how those impacts will in turn impact human ecosystems.

Maybe, but I think we need to remember voters are often non-rational when they vote. That is, they’re not developing rational arguments for why they vote the way they do. So objective data like this might have little or no influence.

But if they are experiencing real $ pain that might shift things.

I am both fearful and hopeful that the midterms elections are going to be really significant here. Fearful because he may try to subvert the elections; hopeful, because if the elections go ahead without interference voters may shift the balance of power in Congress.
