When I daydream about leaving academia to start a bakery, it’s not the big stressors that cause it, it’s the little things like spending 1.5 hours adjusting the spacing on a table only to realize that an extra column you deleted 45 minutes ago has reappeared and thrown the whole thing off. 😭
100% add Black Parade and Ocean Avenue in there and you have the soundtrack to my high school years!

Come see us tomorrow at the @standupforscience.bsky.social table in ABQ. Over 1000 rsvps, get there early as we tell these small men to keep tiny hands off our science.
I blame the NSA they didn’t want us to catch up yesterday, we would have been too powerful!

Proud to say that we ran a successful rally in Santa Fe! About 200 people came out in support, and this is just the beginning of our movement. Thank you to all who contributed to this success, particularly my co-organizers, @faheypsych.bsky.social @matwmccool.bsky.social and @cgillezeau.bsky.social

My favorite thing about the @standupforscience.bsky.social map is that the French people obviously maintain their solidarity and know the history of our joint venture in revolution. Those in power in the U.S. would have us forget this, but I ’ll be Santa Fe tomorrow, how’s about you?

When people ask me about it, I always say, if you found something helpful for you in it, then that is fantastic, but a lot of the science in it is inaccurate and I don’t recommend it to someone who hasn’t read it because of the various biases listed above.
TL;DR: the book is based on debunked theories, misrepresents good scientific research, has misogynistic, racist, and victim-blame-y undertones, steers people away from good treatments we have for PTSD, and peddles in the myth that PTSD is untreatable.
Sick on thanksgiving means watching lots of movies. #HotFrosty was by far the strangest movie I’ve seen in a while.
I would not have guessed a cybertruck owner would have such a good opinion on pickles.

Are most of my Xmas lights already up outside? Yes. But in fairness, democracy is crumbling around me, so imma let myself have this.
