Cynthia Enloe said "here is what you miss if you ignore womens lives."

Each conversation and panel discussion was an insightful reminder as to why we must continue to advocate, educate and learn from both the women who came before us and the future generations of feminists.

After the morning panel, we spent the afternoon listening to activists in Northern Ireland discussing womens role in peace activism.

Hearing the lived experiences was a powerful and engaging conversation, bringing us on a journey from activism in the 1970s to now and what has changed.

Kicking off #BISA2025 we attended the key note lecture by Cynthia Enloe, chaired by Marsha Henry.

The lecture was an engaging conversation about who is considered "canon fodder" and why people become canon fodder, as well as the role of military recruitment from a feminist perspective.
