Rupert Lowe's take on Nathan Gill 👀

"Nathan had been there for years alongside Farage - they were very close... He was one of just two MEPs from the previous term Farage allowed to stand again."
"He seemed particularly interested in Russian/Ukrainian developments which I found peculiar"
s/s X-Twitter post from Rupert Lowe MP

I have received A LOT of questions about Nathan Gill, having sat as a Brexit Party MEP alongside him in Brussels and Strasbourg. He was also the Reform leader in Wales. For those who don’t know, he has pleaded guilty to taking pro-Russian bribes over a number of months.

Obviously, I had absolutely no idea. I was new to the European Parliament, Nathan had been there for years alongside Farage - they were very close. He was the head of the delegation of our MEPs, so with the whip ran the day-to-day affairs of our grouping and organised activity in Brussels/Strasbourg. He was one of just two MEPs from the previous term Farage allowed to stand again. He seemed particularly interested in Russian/Ukrainian developments which I found peculiar. There was one event, right at the beginning of our term, which he asked me and other MEPs to attend. Due to his position in the grouping, I agreed. It had a very pro-Russian slant, with individuals who claimed to be close to Putin there. For obvious reasons, I did not attend another such event.

I thought his obsession with that part of the world was strange, but given his years in the Parliament and position in the party, I didn’t think there was more to it. Other MEPs also found it unusual, but we just got on with job.

So to journalists asking, there is my response.

It is disgraceful behaviour, treasonous behaviour.

I am ashamed to have ever sat alongside him.

Either Zia Yusuf has been lying to the British public or he's been used as a patsy to cover for the Reform UK leaders who absolutely know who Nathan Gill is.

"I've never spoken to him, most people in the senior leadership team have never really heard of the guy." 😬

Awkward for Zia Yusuf, who keeps being sent out to lie as cover for the Reform UK leader

Who did Nigel Farage have lunch with after resigning as UKIP leader 4 July 2016?

Why, it's Russian bribe enthusiast Nathan Gill, who then did the important news briefing on his behalf (to Russia Today)

Millions more homes in Great Britain at risk of flooding, investigation finds
Millions more homes in Great Britain at risk of flooding, investigation finds
Every constituency projected to be at greater risk, with many areas likely to be uninsurable * The flood-prone Worcestershire town being abandoned by insurers * Doors, drains and paving perils: protecting your home from flooding Millions more homes in England, Scotland and Wales face devastating floods, and some towns may have to be abandoned as climate breakdown makes many areas uninsurable, a Guardian investigation has found. New analysis from the insurance industry, seen by the Guardian, reveals the extent of concern in the sector, with bosses warning that large swathes of housing and commercial property in densely populated areas will be at greater risk. Every constituency in Great Britain is projected to have increased flood risk in future. In England, 69% of constituencies are likely to have an increase of more than 25% in the number of properties facing flood risk by mid-century. In Wales and Scotland, every area is projected to have a similar rise with many being much worse hit. Bermondsey and Old Southwark in London and Boston and Skegness in Lincolnshire are projected to have about 90% of homes at risk from river and coastal flooding by 2050 – the highest proportions in the country. Overall London and Yorkshire and the Humber collectively represent more than half of the top 20 constituencies affected by river and coastal flooding, highlighting that the east of England could be most negatively affected. Surface-water flood risk is likely to be particularly acute in dense urban areas, with 14 London constituencies ranked in the top 20 Bournemouth East shows the largest projected increase in surface-water flood risk, with its low-lying topography and inadequate drainage making it particularly susceptible. Over the past decade, 110,000 new homes were built in the highest risk flood zones, equivalent to one in 13 of the new homes built. Aviva calculates that if this trend were to continue, 115,000 of the government’s planned 1.5m new homes would also be in the highest-risk flood zones. Continue reading...

Donald Trump addressed the Israeli parliament (Knesset) earlier this afternoon.

He adds, "It will be the golden age of Israel".

More evidence of his complicity in a genocide.

It may be a hackneyed truism that history is rewritten by the victors, but it's still pretty remarkable to see it happening in real time.

Utterly extraordinary glimpse of what went on behind the scenes.

Political partisanship aside, smart diplomatic analysts have said for a while that recognition of Palestine by countries like UK, France, Canada, etc. was a vital "stick" to Trump's "carrot". But to see it hinted at is remarkable. ~AA
