The logic they are using is so blatantly erroneous and rooted in partisan racism that it clearly refutes the core conservative judicial premise of leaving legislation to congress.

Killing the Voting Rights Act literally repeals the will of the people and its house for generations to come.
The Reconstruction Amendments were adopted to end slavery and provide Black people with equal rights, including the right to vote.

To use those same amendments as weapons of white supremacy today is not just legally incorrect—it is a tragedy.
Voting rights are on the Supreme Court’s chopping block
Tuesday's case pits fanciful claims of racial harmony against the reality of ongoing discrimination.

I'm so excited. Espermarch launches on Friday :D I need a title logo and to finish up a handful of little design things but we're almost there!! #indiecomics
Two-page cover featuring large woman on left with white hair holding five others flying from her hands on right.
I was feeling a kind of way yesterday about the stories people tell about just internet folks always having something to say. It made me realize how vulnerable I feel about my own music making.
I may do some window shopping for new clothes for the holiday season when we head downtown for the Holiday Pops concert in December :D
Y'all, this has been a FANTASTIC day off! I've been just vibing watching YouTube videos, working on page stuff, getting tickets to a show I want to see next year (La Traviata, if you're curious) and adding new orchestral scores to my wishlist.
Also, "10,000 hours" is not only debunked pseudo-science garbage, it's also amounts to about a year. I'm well past that mark.
Sure sure, "Don't listen to the haters" but also, maybe the haters should just have a seat and stop trying to be the Simon Cowell of the comments section, and just let people have fun.
If you're not personally invested in what that person you're critiquing is doing, scroll on and write that thought in your bedside journal. No one actually needs to hear that, least of all from you.
It's not just "I'm a beginner, go easy on me!" it's, "Who is your commentary helping?" It surely isn't me, and no, I don't actually need to be told this. "Tough love" is only valuable to folks if there's actual love involved.
Some of us just want to be heard. Instead, those individuals say, "Well you're not this person (who has spent 20 years learning this instrument) and you never will be, so give it up." It's hurtful, but more importantly out-of-touch critique.
I know my limits, but there are some folks in the casual audience who tend to not contextualize for themselves the quality of what they're hearing or watching, and don't recognize that not all of us early skill performers and artists *want* to be "Carnegie Hall" types.
As a beginner, I know I'm not the best flutist anyone's ever heard but I'm only a couple years in as a person who's taught themselves. I'm not trying to be the best you've ever heard, I'm trying to learn my sound and what I like about this instrument.
I'm learning the flute (completely self-guided) and I feel I know enough of how to read music and how to string sounds together as any beginner, but I worry about sharing my practice sessions or publicly performing as a "look what I can do" because of a public judgmentalness. 🧵
Unlocked a new aspect of this is when I spot multiple copies of a title on the shelf. I'm like, "Oh, you must have written this one."
And not in a judgey way! But like, "Oh, you're my kind of people. Bless you for being honest about your interests." I almost always return to their channels for another video.
Nothing is quite as amazing as an economist showing a whole shelf of D&D books prominently in the shot of their video, while thier econ books are sprinkled elsewhere on the bookcase. It's like, "Oh I see what's important to you."
Sometimes I'll make a list of things I see if the title is intriguing enough (or they show the cover) before I unpause. It'll take me a bit of time to get through a 12-minute video but it's almost always worth it to see who the nerds are in the world, especially if our interests align.
Y'all, my favorite thing is watching videos of YouTubers who record their videos in front of a full bookshelf. I'm not actually listening to what they're saying. I pause the video and read the titles of books on their shelf.
Late night thought as this is the launch week for my new comic. Just a few things to finish and then launch on Friday, and I can think about any other project!
Yeah it does. Gods be good, that's a mess.
Glad to be back tonight! There's lettering to do! #makingcomics twitch.tv/CelestianIOF
Drawn comics panel of two women with white hair standing together on a flight of steps, their hands touching.
I'm going to call tonight's stream and go rest my head and eyes a bit. I'll be back Friday! <3
Haha! Sometimes I wake up in the morning like, "Wow, I can't wait to draw something today!" Kinda feeling that energy today, even though I'll just be drawing some speech bubbles. Morning, everyone!
More lettering work tonight! This time we're in chapter 2. #makingcomics twitch.tv/CelestianIOF
A trio of drawn comics panels featuring a white-haired character rising into their air as another watches him in awe.
