A few days later and Better Edmonton city councillor Mike Elliott has announced that he is also leaving the party to sit as an independent.

Founder, leader, and mayoral candidate Tim Cartmell will also be leaving the party.

3 prominent people within Better Edmonton have left the party this week.
Newly elected City Councillor Reed Clarke just announced that he has left the Better Edmonton Party and will sit at council as an Independent Councillor.

Robert Mitchell, the leader of the PEI Liberals has announced that he will run in the Georgetown-Pownal by-election.

He was elected as leader of the party in October, and previously served as an MLA from 2007-2020.

1999: 86.6%
2004: 76%
2008: 67%
2013: 65%
2017: 57%
2021: 48%
2025: 37%

NEW: Elections Calgary has denied a recount request in Ward 9.

Unofficial results show there is a margin of 267 votes between winner Harrison Clark and runner up Gar Gar.

Gar requested the preliminary recount today.

NEW: Elections Calgary confirms they will be conducting a recount in Ward 12 at 9am on Thursday.

According to unofficial results, Mike Jamieson won the race with a margin of 29 votes over Sarah Ferguson.

Ferguson’s campaign requested the recount today.

NEW from Edmonton: After a recount for councillor in Ward sipiwiyiniwak, independent Thu Parmar has been elected by 627 votes.

Yesterday, Better Edmonton's Darrell Friesen had won the initial count by 6 votes.
