Mitchell was released in 1975 and also stars Linda Evans and
Martin Balsam.

It was directed by Andrew V. McLaglen and written by Ian Kennedy Martin, who also created the 1975 police drama on ITV "The Sweeney".

One of Michael's earlier appearances on television was on Def Comedy Jam, airing September 26th, 1992. He was cast for bit parts in shows like the New Dragnet (1989) and 227 (1989), but this was one of the first times he was able to speak his piece.

Joel's rise to stardom began when producer Barry Sand (of Late Night with David Letterman) watched his act at The Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, California.

Joel would appear as a guest performer on Letterman and SNL 4 times each.

Director Alberto De Martino admitted that he was just riding the hot sci-fi trend in the late 1970s when he made The Pumaman.

He said the movie "was a production based on the trend of the moment. I had always done it that way and always done well."
