Thanks very much! I loved writing about Title IX and Iowa’s incredible devotion to women’s sports. Caitlin Clark stands on the shoulders of generations of trailblazing women — and she always acknowledges that. Thanks again.

Just picked up “On Her Game” and am ready for chapter 3. I have to, genuinely, thank you for chapter 2!! Incredible piece of storytelling! As a native Iowan, chapter 2 moved me. The story told about Iowa high school girls 6x6, Title IX, and CC’s humility was next level!
With betting and gambling now such a huge part of sports, this NBA bombshell really should not come as a big surprise. A portion of our CNN interview…

On National Coaches Day, a book about coaches! I was honored to tell the story of Ottawa Hills High School’s Sandy Osterman. The book was published in 2005 but it’s still available in all the usual places. Go Green Bears!

ESPN has to be absolutely thrilled that the Indiana Fever won tonight and are moving on to the WNBA semifinals. Even with Caitlin Clark on the bench, the Fever are the biggest draw in the playoffs, as the 2025 numbers below clearly show. Such a fascinating, and unique, situation.
Numbers tell the story
Sept. 15, 2000, 25 years ago today, in Sydney: One of my absolute favorite lightings of the cauldron at the Olympic opening ceremony. One great Australian female Olympian passing the torch to the next, until Cathy Freeman stood alone against a spectacular backdrop. share.google/HNOODbgzFZTt...

Congratulations, Marin and Ira, on winning the scholarships named for my late parents! And congrats to all our Association for Women in Sports Media scholarship winners. This is a program that I started as AWSM president in 1990. I’m thrilled it’s still going strong!
The USTA calling on ESPN to censor the crowd reaction when Donald Trump is announced Sunday is outrageous. No broadcaster or media member should ever agree to such a thing. It’s not like there won’t be thousands of social media posts showing the video anyway.
Everyone is welcome to join our virtual conversation tonight:

Thursday, Sept. 4, 6:30-7:30 pm ET

We’ll talk Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever, the injuries, the playoffs, ON HER GAME, etc. — with plenty of time for your questions. Here’s the link:
