Lock your car doors!! Roll up the windows. Refuse to open the door. Start driving away. Video everything and call someone and put the phone on speaker so that they can hear what's happening. It's sad people need to do this. No one needs to stop for them. They're not cops & they don't have warrants.

I'm sorry but I found it offensive that they were all patting themselves on the back & congratulating each other while Gaza lies in literal ruins & tens of thousands of people died, including children. It seems there's no real plan for rebuilding Gaza or providing aid to those who've lost everything

ICE are terrorists, pure & simple. They want to frighten people & they get mad when people aren't frightened. There's no need for military gear, rifles & masks to detain someone for a legit immigration violation, which is a civil matter, not criminal. The vast majority of detainees aren't criminals

Remember that legit immigration violations are, under law, CIVIL offenses, not criminal, and people, undocumented, documented, and even citizens are being treated like criminals. The tactical/SWAT gear and masks are pure terrorism. ICE is Trump's secret police.

How many times must people say that what ICE is doing is illegal before local police step in? They are detaining citizens without probable cause, they are conducting warrantless searches and seizures, and they are ignoring due process. You can't hold them to account because they don't ID themselves.

Yeah, "fix" is the right word, here, as in "fix the vote." The Dems have to match this energy, or we're all going to be up sh*t's creek. Because if the Dems don't gain the majority in the midterms, you can stick a fork in America because it's done. It's truly our last chance to avert disaster.

What she says is true, but I don't trust her. She's a political opportunist through & through, like Vance. There's no more political capital for her going along with Trump. Now she sees more opportunity in being the populist who opposes him. She could be right. I wish more Repug pols could see it.

Historical events and crises are almost always the result of a convergence of factors, and the Civil War was a great example of that. There were multiple issues that coalesced and came to a head, but the abolitionist movement was a big part of it, without a doubt.

It isn't that simple. The abolitionist movement was strong, meaningful, & sustained. The issue of slavery was prominent when the US was founded, & anti-slavery views were part of the debate then. It was never resolved, so war was an inevitability. Economics was a factor, but it wasn't the only one

There's no point painting everything with a broad brush. To say that everything's the same and has always been like this encourages people to give up. Critical thinking means being able to see how one thing is different from another and being able to understand the context of one thing vs. another.
