Trump Accidentally Sabotages Case for Bombings in New Interview Fiasco
The president’s claims about the boat killings and his pardon of the Honduran ex-president in a new Politico interview should finally convince Republicans that they, and we, must get to the bottom of it all.

1. The conventional explanation for food deserts—that these places are too poor or too rural to generate enough spending on groceries, or too Black to overcome racist corporate redlining — fail to grapple with a key fact: food deserts didn’t used to exist. My new piece in The Atlantic.

Trump's FTC leaders bad-mouthed Lina Khan when they dropped this lawsuit, claiming that they were cleaning up her mess. Now that it's been unsealed, we can see that was a total lie. This was a coverup to protect Pepsi and Walmart.
1. For at least 10 years, Pepsi has conspired with Walmart to force up grocery prices. That’s the shocking evidence made public today in an unsealed FTC lawsuit. The suit was abandoned in May by the Trump FTC just before it was to be un-redacted. We went to court to get it unsealed & won.

8. I am so appalled that the Trump/Ferguson FTC dropped this case. Local independent grocery stores are being driven out of business — and their customers forced to pay higher prices — by two powerful companies who've been told, in effect, that they can violate the law with impunity.

6. Why does Pepsi do this? Walmart’s promise is: Keep us the king of our domain and we’ll make you the king of yours. Walmart helps Pepsi dominate the drink market in exchange for Pepsi ensuring that Walmart dominates groceries.

5. Another example involves Food Lion. Pepsi sees Food Lion as the "worst offender," because it prices Pepsi products below Walmart. So Pepsi creates a multi-year roadmap to force Food Lion to raise its prices.

Update in case you were keeping score of Trump's failed attempts to prosecute Letitia James:
•James is 34-0 against Donald Trump.
•Trump is 0-3 against Letitia James.

He's a 34X convicted felon
She's a 3X vindicated icon

If only Merrick Garland had 1/100th the courage & integrity of Leticia James.

Around 70% of the U.S. economy depends on consumer spending. As wealth concentrates in the richest 10%, the rest of America can’t afford to buy enough to keep the economy running.

This is a huge problem — and even America’s most powerful CEOs are starting to sound the alarm.
