I was leftist before I was trans. The only reason I even figured out I was trans is because I read “Trans Liberation: Beyond Pink or Blue” written by Leslie Feinberg, who was an outspoken communist.

My original motivation for picking it up was to learn better solidarity with my queer friends.

I blocked him as soon as I saw the "most Texians and Tejanos didn't own slaves", because that is literally the same white supremacist talking point about why the US Civil War "wasn't about slavery". Yeah, most people didn't, but their leaders did, which is why they started wars to keep slavery.

You had 5 relatives that fought in a revolt because anglo-American settlers wanted to keep the chattel slavery that the Mexican government abolished in Texas in 1829. The United States helped agitate the revolt with the goal of annexing Texas in the aftermath, which is exactly what happened.
