@sethpartnow.bsky.social had an analytics thought mid-Thanksgiving leftovers:

If a team gets to ~2 seconds on the shot clock and has no conceivable good look (long heave, random chuck), is it better to take the dead ball turnover than risk giving the defense a live rebound transition possession?

Anybody have a video of the jump ball between GA and Hart at the end I’m trying to see something

This remains unbelievable the league will not call clearly unsporting fouls like this flagrant.

They’re not going to get GA in a different market. They’re going to get his arm pulled out of its socket

It was very fun to see Eminem rap “Till I Collapse” over “Hello Operator” yesterday. Jack White kills

This is dope. Great holiday
market, and go buy this great book
Happy to announce that I'll be at the Colectivo Holiday Market on Sunday, December 14 selling copies of my book, 'Building the Milwaukee Bucks: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson and the Rapid Rise of an NBA Franchise, 1968-1975.'

Make it down on your calendar and hope to see you there! #Bucks

I’m going to make sure it’s real, but the first 2-3 minutes of the second half is what told me they could use a coaching change.

The ball was POPPING. Like, we did it! Zing-zing, like Pacers last season. Then…it just died.

This team has it in them to play modern NBA ball. They just don’t.

Doc said Myles struggles to shoot the open shots because there’s more freedom in MKE than he had in Indy…

Um.

Is this why there aren’t AJ pin downs? Or why actions start late? Where the most effective teams have prescriptive systems, the Bucks have “freedom”

Maybe play like the best teams? 🤷‍♂️

Anybody else’s national broadcast on NBA TV just turn into other NBA programming?

Grizzlies watchers:

Is Vince Williams Jr a good passer?

I am perplexed. Could easily answer hell yes or no from what little I’ve seen this year

Taking 6 threes won’t win you any NBA game, GA or no GA
November 21, 2025 at 1:37 AM
Theres no way the offense is executing whatever game plan Doc had going into this one yet

FWIW, Luka is taking 1.2 shots per game at the rim. Giannis takes 18. Luka averages more free throws.
There’s something deeply wrong with how the league is officiated (and the lakers bias) when Luka and Reaves lead the league in free throw attempts. 28 more last night. Just absurd.

This is beyond messed up from the Pacers.

Do they really think their own players don’t notice this? Try getting them to take a discount or a team option year now.

It’s wild how much they’re carrying water when the FO screwed it up offering him 3/66 when he went and got 4/107

This thread rules.

Recent books I haven’t seen mentioned but are spectacular:

THE BARN by Wright Thompson
THEY CAN’T KILL US UNTIL THEY KILL US - Hanif Abdurraqib
THE UNDOING PROJECT - Michael Lewis
Ok BlueSky: what are your favorite history books in terms of sheer page-turning, narrative propulsion? Thinking along the line of Killers of the Flower Moon, etc. Nonfiction chronicles that read like novels or movies.

Great nugget on this podcast (other than Doc scooping everyone with the GA update)

Today is a blackout day where Bucks players are told to stay home and rest. Ryan Rollins was the first player to try to get into the gym anyway.

Doc: “I don’t know”

Something that sticks in my head about the good and the bad of this Bucks season is Cole Anthony, Bobby, and Kuz are all guys who run hot and cold.

That’s a lot of volatility in a top 8/9 rotation.

Hope Lakers have Lactaid ready with this Dairy Bird run that’s coming

Would love to hear what these Bucks defensive principles are
November 16, 2025 at 1:58 AM
Just caught up on the Bucks game last night.

—Marques’s Three Mile Island line for MT blindsided me

—Teams rely on the Bucks blowing perimeter switches for paint touches.

—Bucks can’t get enough non-GA paint touches.

—nothing that’s wrong isn’t fixable. Lotta possibilities yet for this team.
