P7s last day of term STEAM Challenge. In preparation for a spooky first week back, each team had to start creating a freestanding cauldron and catapult... During Halloween week, we'll see who can catapult an eyeball into their cauldron to finish the magic potion! ✨👀 🌛 1/3

Primary 2 set out to build a tower taller than Mrs Stewart — and they smashed it! 🏗️ So much amazing maths: measuring, estimating, comparing heights, talking fractions (“It’s only half of Mrs Stewart — we need to double it!”) & exploring scale. #MathsTalk #STEM #LearningThroughPlay #MetaSkills

Forest Friday: Is it even a trip to the woods if you don’t climb a tree?!

Did you know climbing trees helps us to develop problem solving, patience, persistence, gross motor skills, balance and co-ordination AND risk management?? It’s pretty good for our emotional well-being too! 🌳🌲

P7 also helped Ms Gibson lead the Harvest Celebration assembly this week. Well done to everyone who stood up and spoke in front of the whole school, helped make the film, and sang their hearts out 🤩

After our Spanish birthdays work the other week, P7 used the posters and pictures we made to gather data, organise it, and display it. As well as recapping the technical requirements, we discussed how data can be false or misleading, and how we need to work on having a critical eye to spot it!

P7 consolidated knowledge of various kinds of nouns through IDL work that took us from the Golden Ratio to Salvidor Dali, from common to abstract, concrete to compound, and (Mrs N's favourite) collective nouns. Then, Newsround topped it off by mentioning a loveliness of ladybirds the other day! 🐞🐞✨

In P7, Friday afternoons mean S.T.E.A.M challenges! So far, we've made our own Code Cracker Contraptions, Fibonacci spirals using knowledge of squared numbers, 3D art... So watch this space for what's to come tomorrow! 👀 👀 👀
