Congratulations Brian - you’ll do a grand job!
Our new Chair of Trustees quick to demonstrate his support for our #BackToLife endeavours!
Brian J Cavanagh brings a formidable reputation as a leader, coach, mentor and non-profit Board Chair.
He has written ‘Governing with Purpose’ on the topic and has a forthcoming title ‘The Art of Chairing’.
Thrilled to show @brianjcavanagh around our elegant library as he takes on the key role of inaugural Chair of Trustees… just admire that @belfastcc Coat of Arms above!

Beautiful modern extension with superb library in Andrew Carnegie’s Peace Palace in The Hague!

Carnegie’s timing was unfortunate in his efforts to prevent WWl - but the spectacular building remains a powerful legacy now occupied by @icjp.bsky.social
Amazing pic of Oldpark Road at junction of Crumlin - you can just spot us top right!
We’re jealous of #DonegalRoadCarnegie and its fabulous vitreous glass mosaic tiled floor!
Ours has been removed / destroyed / stolen sadly

Tiniest in our series #18 of #IrishCarnegies - in Garriston near Dublin 66 in Ireland.

A priest asked Carnegie’s permission to place the library on church land. Declined.
it was built there by 1906, same land, same stone even - looks like a church outbuilding. But it’s still a free public library!

Look - it’s right next to the chapel!
And bears a similar cross - did Carnegie know, I wonder?

Loving this art cube in The Hague - where could we locate one?

For whom? With what? By when? How?
