skipping the hike today because my body is DONE. it’s just so hot and humid I know I wouldn’t be able to do a 1200m climb so instead I will try to get to the waterfall at the end a different way. feeling like a failure but I need to be realistic.

went to Osaka castle this morning but it’s 90 degrees and I started feeling really sick so I’m in the hotel room for a bit to cool down. really wish the heat didn’t affect me so much!!! I need autumn here!!

Day1/2: This is the only photo I have taken of Japan. It is my hotel room in Osaka and a cutie paper lantern. I haven’t slept in 24 hours and I couldn’t tell you what day it is. I took the best shower of my life. My clothes stink.

I love Minnesotans. We just met a guy at the airport who is opening a cocktail bar in Osaka and he invited us to go bar hopping at all these cocktail places where he knows the owners!! yayyyy

Neat thing: My dad practiced a martial art called Aikido. I just learned that the random hike I am doing is in the birthplace of Aikido and masters of aikido hike this trail as part of their practice. It's just SO random and, it feels like a "sign" if you will. My dad would have loved this so much.

yeah it's super neat and SUPER loud with all the cranes screaming lol. they aren't updating their website bc of the shutdown but there is a FB page that will update when the cranes arrive. usually mid-october so keep an eye out because I'll miss it this year!!
