To add some color to my very black and white feed, here is a shot from last year’s winter. Chicago’s water tower, one of the few buildings that survived the big fire in 1871.

Lakeshore East, Chicago.

Every time I go to this area, I need to capture this staircase, they are beautiful, how light hits, the design…. This is how Chicago is built, to look beautiful.

Part of my series Chicago: City Beautiful

Im latino, Im a creative, Bad Bunny’s music is not my cup of tea, but damn he’s good! He is a performer and most importantly, he is a disruptive and mega creative guy! Us creatives can learn from that.

Also, being latino is the shit!

Thank you! I was in the middle of a big crowd, and I needed her to look at me, so I tried to catch her attention with signs and doing noises until the women on her side saw me and asked her to tell her to look at me. It was a funny situation

The camera no more takes a picture than the hammer builds a house.

Hahaha exactly!

Its not that it is overrated, is just that story is king. And you can do a good photo even with literally a box. Focus is part of it, same as composition, light and all photography components.
October 7, 2025 at 4:25 PM
You are right, but mastering fundamentals can take your photos from just in focus, not shaky and a good enough exposure to a really good photo out of the camera without the need of lightroom or a fancy camera. Plus learning composition and training your eye are musts. Story is king in photography.

Its like everything, it only takes practice and learning, and the first step is having interest in it, and most importantly, photography is about sharing your perspective of the world. Tools are tools and thats it. Thanks for sharing!
October 7, 2025 at 4:13 PM
And thats great! Great photos!
October 7, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Exactly, I mean, cameras are great, but people are too concerned about that, we are missing the fundamentals. I guess is the consumerism trying to take control of arts.
