Hot take, but I'd be a fan of taxes paying for basic funeral expenses. If you're going to pay taxes your whole life, the least the government can do is unburden your family from financial grief when you die.

Oligarchs don't care about the welfare of Americans -- they care about their money and how they can get it from you. If that means suppressed wages for Americans or outsourcing to foreign countries to exploit the workers there for pennies on the dollar, that's the goal.

They DO NOT care about you.

"Died penniless"

That's not bad -- if anything, that should be the goal. We're not supposed to be dragons sitting on a hoard of gold. Your wealth at the time of your death isn't your high score.

They're not "Healthcare Providers" -- they're "Healthcare Deniers"

The value they bring to their shareholders is not how much healthcare they provide, it's profit from healthcare they denied

They weasel out of their obligations, and people die

If each time we elect someone like Trump, and God sends a plague, would evangelicals notice or care?

Half joking

The right losing their mind about people leaving the app formerly known as Twitter is fitting.

Abusers freak out when their victims finally take the option to leave.

When they say they're being 'silenced' on certain platforms for their conservative views, and you ask, "Oh no, your views about, what -- taxes?" 👀

It quickly becomes clear they're actually being moderated due to bigoted language, harassing others, mocking, taunting, doxxing, being an asshole, etc.

Hybrid work and work from home is here to stay, and for good reason. If companies, realtors, and investors overextended on office space, that’s their issue -- not everyone else’s.

Good morning!

One nice thing I got going for me is that I'm confident that my decision-making capabilities are intact and I'm fit to make decent, common-sense conclusions.

For example, I'm very aware that an adjudicated rapist, convicted felon, and violent insurrectionist is unfit to be President.

For a country full of rugged individualists expecting people to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, it's funny how those same people celebrate entitled, lazy, spoiled, trust-funded, talentless parasites who were born into every advantage and never had to work their way up or prove their worth.

Repeat a lie enough times and it becomes true. Suggest that something happened, over and over -- even if it didn't -- and it becomes true to the ill-informed.

(This is intended as a warning, not a blueprint.)

There are people who think respect means "treat me like a human" and there are people who think respect means "treat me like an authority", so to some people if you don't treat them like an authority, they won't treat you like a human.

GOP values:
- Freedom of Religion (*only my religion)
- Christianity (*ignoring the sick/poor)
- Law and Order (*the rich get a pass)
- Pro-Military (*but not veterans)
- Fiscal Conservatism (*when not in power)
- Patriotism (*except for violent insurrection)
- Pro-Business (*by exploiting workers)

One thing I've learned through a handful of disappointing elections is this:

Republicans only need one reason to vote for their candidate, while Democrats only need one reason not to vote for their candidate.

If Republicans didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all.
