Sad reality that there are lots of WWII games where you are liberating Europe but shocking few where you liberate a plantation, which could be pretty wild. Playing games where you shoot up Nazis unfortunately didn't stop basement bros from turning into them though.

Also why people generally run for state office or at least House seat before going to the Senate or Governor. Shake all the skeletons out of the closet (or off your chest) before the light gets too bright. Feels like a pretty bog standard Icarus story here of flying too high, too fast.

I'll probably give up on my s22 when the 26 ones come out, but I abuse the battery. Samsung still runs on Android, but about the best you can do to avoid funding Google or Apple. And you can shut off most the Gemini junk for now at least.

Also if I recall right the 16 sold fairly poorly. So probably a lot of people who just waited bc their 12-14s were fine and now you have those sales compared against a lower baseline. All the tech news right now is mostly empty hype.

Charging for check and ACH deserves to be illegal. Charging for credit card isnt unreasonable, but has a positive side effect that it is less commonly offered. That is a good thing since paying 25% interest on rent is dumb and you don't need points if you are just paying it off monthly.

The Lumia was quality, just lacked an app store, which was a good thing in concept. Except the world got stuffed into this outcome that everything needs its own separate app instead of mobile optimized pages.

You should not be paying rent with a credit card. The landlord should really not accept it, but if you want to create a bunch of fees collected by the banks to earn points you absolutely should pay for that. ACH, debit or old school check all should be free, but credit card fees are actually fair.

Mass data analysis where getting 90% right out of a pool of data that a human would take years to process is not a bad outcome. Then a human can spend a few months to comb what the AI identified and refine from that. I will trash generative AI slop all day, but mass set data mining is a real use.

It is all fake money on top of fake money. There is no real revenue beyond the core business revenues that MSFT Google and Meta are willing to light on fire. If/when that stops Nvidia will come back to reality, and then all the others it is propping up now will crash out.

For what it is worth today it showed on page A23 in print (same story as was up early yesterday online) and it is entirely off the NYT app as a story. Had unsubscribed and then resubsribed last month for weekend only so kids could see us reading actual paper, but really regretting that now.

BNPL allows you to close a sale to a consumer that really cannot afford the product (a whole separate issue). The guy with the Platinum card though can put that charge on his debit card since he's a transactor just racking up points and paying in full every month.
