I've never understood some men's obsession with having children (especially male children) as a form of leaving a legacy. Especially since those same men rarely want to help raise those kids. An individual person isn't a monument to your DNA. You didn't actually accomplish anything but reproduce.

tumblr's still active, but "climate"-wise more stagnant. certain mutuals or "iconic" personalities over a decade ago wouldn't have thrived in its current state. not even just for nsfw or political reasons, the infrastructure changed so much. everyone is irony poisoned, self included

people talk about le discourse is why fanworks are worse now, but i think it's that people having to "market" or dumb themselves down for an audience and the numbers game is the real reason why. i used to have so much fun browsing fansites and seeing absolutely off the wall indulgent fanart
