The SRU creating a new men’s 7s program but not a women’s 7s program is inexcusable given how intertwined women’s 7s and 15s still are.

The SRU has clearly opted to sacrifice women’s rugby to spend more on the men.

The Ireland squad is out and the big news is the return of Caelan Doris 🔙

However, the absentee list includes Cormac Izuchukwu, Hugo Keenan, Joe McCarthy, Calvin Nash, Harry Byrne or Gavin Coombes.
Paddy McCarthy the only uncapped player included.

This frustrating article is another example of Irish rugby pundits constantly saying that the IRFU somehow didn't do any long-term sucession planning for Sexton, when (as the article itself admits) multiple alternatives were in fact given an extended run and for various reasons haven't worked out.

Being reported that Wales did not sign the anti-R360 letter because they are wary of the possibility that top players will join that league if they cut regions

Which to me is a tacit admission that they know their ‘optimal solution’ will not provide adequate pathways to resource the national side

Even though it was disjointed, you can see the changes in Munster this season

Scrum is more aggressive, lineout is much cleaner, forwards playing narrower and more direct, and there’s a general ball handling improvement

Decent start with a host of talent yet to return
