The trappings of power are too much to give up.
A 77 year old should be walking a dog, sipping tea (or gin, whatever), and maybe offering advice to acolytes. Not seeking a jump from one political pond into another.

In the real future, 50-somethings will not imagine that spending $500 on cycling clothing will make them actual racers, or cycle 3-across on 60kms roads while doing 20.

Why are you even trying? Cyclists are the least respectful travelers on any road.

It's almost like you have zero points about why photo-speed cameras are better than being stopped for 30 minutes in view of the public where the lesson can be 1000 times more effective.

Go back to terrorizing pedestrians on public trails you imagine are your private race tracks.

It also has zero to do with cycling, among who's community members (of which I have been one) I have found ZERO consideration of pedestrians or traffic laws.

Last week there was a firefight between Hamas and a clan in Gaza that left almost a dozen Hamas dead as well as a few clan members.
Peace in Gaza DOES NOT INCLUDE HAMAS.
Otherwise, it is only rinse and repeat.
Only 1/3 of Gazans are pro-terrorist. Relatives.

Cameras do not solve a speed problem.
I used to get a ticket once per year in Edmonton. It's a grab for money a day late. You want to enforce speed laws? Get police out there enforcing it instead of having private meetings in mall parking lots.

Korea did not wait to shut down an illegal marshal law declaration. Georgians didn't wait to shut the country down.

The main problem is that they never imagined a time when almost everyone with authority would not want to follow it.

Courts are a crap way to enforce it. The transgression has already occurred. Nobody in the US talks about how many thousands of people have been dumped in strange countries.
