Just caught a White Whale. Perfect for the 80th. Narrated by the man himself! #rws #railwayseries #revwawdry #railwayseries80
Got this recently. Don’t love the yellow. I’m thinking of repainting it Seafoam Green or Brown… any suggestions would be welcome
Oh wow, he really is. I just wish they scaled the rolling stock and tenders better. The big engines look so goofy with those baby tenders
“What’s a railway testicles”
Seeing this after what we know now makes me sick to my stomach. If you actually did this you deserve worse than what happens to you
12 years apart. College, medical school, two kids, and lots of toil and sacrifice in between. Some wins and many losses, but loving life more than I ever have. In the first picture I was a naive college student, and in the second I’m a dad, doctor, and husband. I am so blessed.
Never knew that was a thing!
Work as conductor/engineer. Honestly just poorly maintained track sucks. You bounce everywhere and gotta keep it slow as to not derail. And the rail companies (the big ones anyway) don’t like paying to maintain as long as a train CAN pass through. But really that’s it. Speed restrictions suck too
Not exactly 80th anniversary content, but excited nonetheless! @thebluesnowplow.bsky.social #thomasandfriends #thomasthetankengine #horrorsofhawinlake #railwayseries

Happy Birthday Thomas the Tank Engine!

Today is 80 years since the Reverend W. Awdry’s first Railway Series book.

A keen railway enthusiast, Awdry first visited the Talyllyn Railway in 1952. His experiences as a volunteer inspired the creation of the Skarloey Railway.

Remember Wilbert? Well, he’s back. In OO gauge form!
As a Railway Series fanatic this has been almost impossible to keep secret! @accurascale have revealed their model of 'Wilbert', which was named after Reverend Wilbert Awdry in 1987. Help us save the real locomotive!

In my honest opinion the Down the Mine pilot is actually better than the actual episode. Like the sand and dirt actually falling away was amazing. I am not sure if I like the props better in the show or the pilot but either way, I’m so excited that we as a fandom finally have this

#thomasandfriends
Made a special drink (vodka, blue curaçao, and sprite) to celebrate the release of the lost ‘Down the Mine’ pilot. I am so excited this is available after all these years. The 80th is turning out to be one heck of a good anniversary for Thomas and Friends fans of all kinds.
We’ve waited for this for so long. I’m so hyped
Well, we all hoped for it but never thought it would happen. The unseen pilot episode of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends will be shown for the first time today at 6pm (BST) on the Thomas and Friends YouTube channel.
