Go Jinx! The first time I took Biscuit to the vet after his adoption, the tech took a really long time to bring him back after weighing him. She said it was because she had to show him off to the other techs 😅

I agree! Most of our furniture is either fin de siècle or midcentury modern, depending on the generation from which we inherited it. It makes for an eclectic aesthetic.

I went to the estate sale of a deceased neighbor and bought her rusty cast iron Dutch oven, cleaned it, seasoned it, made bread in it, and wished her well.

I moved to Alabama. Lots of neighborhoods have swimming pools and supper clubs so white people didn’t have to swim or eat with black people. The public pools were left to black kids who hadn’t learned to swim, so the public pools were shut down for “lack of use.”
