Also folks don’t know me but maybe I should introduce myself?

I’m Shann. I’m a #playwright and #comicwriter who eventually wants to make it into a writer’s room.

Expect lots of #xmen talk mostly and maybe writing stuff!

🚨 IMPORTANT THREAD 🚨

People are protesting the Broadview ICE facility tonight. This will likely be an extremely high-risk action. I caution you to consider your risk level before attending. I will not attend.

Attendance risks your safety, but also the safety of Broadview residents + detainees. 1/6

This is the spirit of Los Angeles.

This is California.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

An LAPD helicopter claimed to have ID'ed protesters from above and threatened to "come to your house."

The threat was greeted with extreme concern by civil liberties and digital privacy groups. It suggests the LAPD could be using facial recognition to identify and retaliate against protesters.

The practice, an expert warns, could lead to "reprisals and retribution by the police for your politics.”

Happy #webcomicday! I can finally say I'm off hiatus, and Tales from Pondia is back! A frog prince, a crow sorceress, and a tadpole journey across the land of Pondia, filled with giant insects, powerful magic, and remnants of ages long past. They are risking it all to be the heroes they long to be!!
You're totally free to express your point of view.

That doesn't mean people are going to agree with it or be kind to you, especially if that point of view is one laced with bigotry.

Think on that, please.
Trans men aren't lesbians. They aren't being "castrated." You sound insane.
Kindness is earned. Fuck off with that weak shit.

I’m a non-union American VA who moved to Japan a year ago and I knew about the strike on the day it was announced.

I saw so many voice actors asking for more details to avoid accidentally crossing the picket line. What quickly followed were tons of helpful threads, links, and even visual graphics.
I just wish that Charles' SUPPOSED last little moment with the X-Men was more of a bang than a whimper.

I wish we had lived with this character longer. I wish that he had earned the tears that all of these great characters wound up crying for him, and the insane defense that some had for him, but he didn't. I hope that Imperial is good, and I will be reading it.
IN CONCLUSION, I think that this could have been really interesting, but I think it wound up feeling like an insanely rushed attempt to soften the view of Charles after everything he did during Krakoa and the Fall.
I don't see him campaigning for Xavier to be detained in Graymalkin at all. Even if he hated Charles' guts.
3. On the other side of the coin, why would Cyclops want ANYBODY rotting in GRAYMALKIN? While I understand that Cyclops is supposed to be terrified of ruffling the feathers of humanity after what happened during the Fall, we RECENTLY watched him OWN a federal agent in X-Men.
Why would Emma give him a kiss and tell him "he deserves to be happy?" Especially when she vehemently opposed so much of what he did through Krokoa and the Fall?
REGARDLESS, I think we needed to live with a fading Xavier longer before this event.

2. I think this event tried too hard to redeem Xavier without giving us (or any characters) any reason to stand by his side. Why would Storm stand with him? Why would Rogue stand with him?
I need to re-read it, because I walked away with the impression that they were trying to retcon the brain tumor as the reason for a lot of his very erratic behavior at the end of Fall of X. WHICH I DON'T EVEN HATE, but I am not clear and want to re-read everything first.
That said, there are some problems that I have with it. 1. I don't think the brain tumor plotline was a bad one, but it was seriously underdeveloped and felt almost rushed. (cont.)
I really admire what the X-Office was trying to do with the X-Manhunt plotline. I like that Xavier's story didn't end in that prison. I like that certain issues really tackled what kind of person Xavier was and really tried to grapple with his expansive and flawed existence.
