I love this story because he could have just stopped part of the way through and it would have made the same point without being over the top, obviously false*, but couldn't.

*still false, but not comical.
I don't normally support them, but watching the private equity ghouls dismantle Walgreens and sell it off for parts is going to be very satisfying.
After spending a half an hour in line yesterday to be told that I also have to separately request, in person, that the pharmacists process the refill request after I have submitted it, Walgreens now informing me that only the two not time sensitive prescriptions have been filled.
Minneapolis desperately needs one of those traffic enforcement bounty programs.
In the US there's enough basic public policy stuff crammed into the tax code that that approach would lead to a big increase in the amount of taxes due.

It shouldn't be that way, because it's ridiculous to do it that way, but, well, the United States.
This one is different, I think, since it talks about you providing the information and requesting that they do it.

Also legally the substitute-for-returns aren't actual returns, and so they get around some of the things that do rely on there being a return there. (Replace it before bankruptcy!)
The 1040EZ used to have a note about that (regarding the EITC) written right on it!

Anyone doing this should be aware that when the IRS goes in and changes stuff on your return that is called an audit, and you will get some initially terrifying letters.
I thought I was used to the standard everything-is-projection thing with Republicans, but I still didn't see it coming with their Great Replacement conspiracy theory.
So Nazis. They want to give refugee status to Nazis.

OK, maybe not JUST Nazis. Also certain other white people who hate non-white immigration. But Nazis can definitely come.

The proposals also advise Mr. Trump to prioritize Europeans who have been “targeted for peaceful expression of views online such as opposition to mass migration or support for ‘populist’ political parties.”

That appeared to be a reference to the European far-right political party Alternative for Germany, whose leaders have trivialized the Holocaust, revived Nazi slogans and denigrated foreigners. Vice President JD Vance has criticized Germany for trying to suppress the views of the group, which is known as the AfD.
Lot of copper wire in a building that size.
But if you're a loser then how else would anyone know?
The more Trump talks about his upcoming death the more I worry that we're going to see his death be the final push that breaks the surface tension of all of the economic and social catastrophes sitting around, and then most Americans will remember him as the Good Times President.
They do have a tendency towards "just like a normal limb only more ripped and shiny" though, even (metaphorically) with the other sorts of disabilities.
The storyline about the potential cure for mutation just ended up being really weird because all of the characters acted like it was a cure for homosexuality, and their debates sounded insane.

But that exact question is a huge rift in the disability rights movement! A really big one!
Also just on principle most mutants should have weird/useless mutations, rather than that being rare and most ending up as glamorous superheroes. (The Morlocks should have their own book, and it should be the biggest most prestigious one!)
The X-Men always leans into the civil rights or gay rights movements as its metaphorical center, but it should be looking at the disability rights movement.
What's an opinion about X-Men that'll get you sent to jail? Is Jean really interesting or really boring? Should Logan have stayed dead? Do you think a certain x-mens outfit is positively horrendous even though people seem to love it?

The Brood Saga is better than Dark Phoenix imo 🤷
If the uptown cub doesn't open their pharmacy again soon I am just going to just give up on taking meds at all.
If the city is doing regular maintenance that's going to cause trouble for my plans to plant a bunch of marijuana on it in the hopes that they do a civil asset seizure.
"Do not try to find us" is just a completely unfair demand, because if I knew there was an underground movie theater carved out of a cave hidden in underground catacombs I would be looking for that so hard.
That van is bad enough that I almost missed whatever this nonsense is.
A screenshot of what is probably supposed to be some kind of deformed bicycle.
Honestly I don't know why this surprised me, coming from a New York Times Op Ed writer, but I still feel disappointed.
(and i think it is a demand that stems from fear more than a rational assessment of the threat environment)
"Mask until you don't have to anymore" kind of fell apart when a huge number of people decided to sabotage it.

Instead of getting to that point a lot of people just agreed to pretend that we had, and now here we are.
"Personally, as a smarts-ninja, I recommend not arguing with me, therefore I win the argument."
Also she is 41 years old.
