I have so many thoughts about tonight’s heated rivalry but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone.
First two are my stream of thoughts while watching, last message is from a group chat with friends.
Episode 3 -Scott's body when he's running is insane, and you can see it through the shirt? Wild. -what's up with our gay boys wearing strawberry merch? (Alex and Kip) -idk that I like Maria constantly saying "girl" to Kip. -they are so mean to Kyle lol is Kyle one of the lovers in book ..4? -for someone closeted, Scott sure is doing a shit ton of flirting right in Maria's face. And she's loving it. -Elena -btw those smoothies look watery af -you can see Scott's bicep veins even in the dark blue UA shirt -love the serial killer v spree killer banter -publicly flirting ON THE ICE baby you're CLOSETED does that mean nothing to you -Ilya telling his teammates he loves them Imfaooo "it's more fun if you are there" -Shane willing to throw down because of the Ilya comment -Kip running around in his underwear is super unnecessary but I'm NOT mad at it. I love his dad -if Scott isn't a serial killer then why tf is he hanging around dark alleys -I keep thinking keep reminds me of someone and it finally clicked. Andrew rannels. -their bodies are not real sorry that's cgi -Scott is super pretty when he's being earnest -Kip in his glasses -did NOT love the museum scene -Elena is a killer and I love it -wtf why did it end there This may sound kinda mean and it's totally okay if you don't agree. Overall, I would have preferred this been split over the episodes than one whole episode with just them. They did do some weird storyline stuff but honestly I'm not upset bc l just wasn't impressed with that book. If I read their story first, I probably would have not have been convinced to read or watch anything else of Rachel's. The couple just wasn't that interesting to me and I really struggled to even finish the book. I didn't hate this episode but it's not at all the same vibe as the first two episodes. And no shade to them, but Connor and Hudson are better actors so I enjoy them on my screen more anyway. And their dynamic and story. So really I'm fine with them just showing the coming out later and maybe a couple tiny other scenes. I would prefer another season of Shane and Ilya rather than more of this couple. The best part of this episode was Ilya toh, then Shane.

I just finished the first Game Changers book and I am underwhelmed.
I’m glad I didn’t read that before the series bc idk that I would have watched it. Honestly, the best parts were any time Ilya was in the scene or even mentioned.
I will still read Heated Rivalry but I’ll keep my expectations low.
