FACT: A companion bridge is being added as part of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project.

The existing bridge will remain in place and carry local traffic between Covington and Cincinnati.

The new bridge will carry traffic on I-71 and I-75.

As part of ODOT and KYTC’s commitment to minimizing environmental impacts, divers carefully relocated mussels from within the construction area of the Ohio River to a safe upstream habitat. These mollusks play a vital role in keeping waterways clean. One mussel can filter 15 gallons of water a day.
