There are a lot of people angry about Toyota, etc making their cars subscription based. Rather than paying $700/month on the car (payment, insurance, maintenance, subscriptions), maybe they should demand efficient multi-modal public transit in their city & get an $80 monthly transit pass instead
I use an e-bike or public transportation for 95% of my trips, but sometimes I do have to drive. Despite drivers complaining about cyclists breaking the law, nothing seems to piss them off more than when I stick to the speed limit and come to a complete stop when turning right on red.
Vision Zero will not happen until we prioritize forms of transit that aren't private vehicles, including and especially grade separated electrified rail, and build protected bike lanes and sidewalks throughout our cities
Had to yell "Hey!" at a vehicle whose driver was drifting into the bike lane I had been occupying. The lane they were in is 12 ft wide, but they apparently felt entitled to the 5 ft of the bike lane as well.

Paint is not infrastructure. Bike lanes need bollards and concrete for safety.
The city keeps building roads, but where are the cars on the ones already built? Why build roads if cars aren't going to use them? We could widen the sidewalks and bike lanes if we didn't have to cater to these drivers (who break traffic laws constantly)

It is unjust & unfair that pedestrians/cyclists who are not polluting have to breathe in noxious exhaust from vehicles and suffer the health consequences while the drivers whose vehicles expel those same gases have cabin filters in their vehicles to protect themselves from their own pollution.
What if, instead of Tampa/Hillsborough County (inevitably) spending $1B on a new Rays stadium, St Pete/Pinellas spent $50M on repairing Tropicana Stadium, & Hillsborough + Pinellas Counties spent $1B on a grade-separated electrified rail from downtown Tampa to downtown St Pete?
HART should run special game day shuttles from USF & downtown to the Ray James area to cut down on traffic
If the interstate highway system can cost $600B & take 40 years to build, with people who don't drive still having their tax dollars used to support and expand it, I don't want to hear a single driver complain about a potential statewide or nationwide HSR network taking too long or costing too much
Building a grade-separated rail network in the Tampa Bay region would let me sell my (paid off) car, & even a $100 monthly rail pass would be $70 cheaper than my insurance alone, not to mention gas, maintenance, parking, etc.

It's July, & I've only driven 1k miles. It's a waste of money for me.
Dale Mabry Hwy would not be nearly the mess it turns into every time there is a sporting/concert event in the Raymond James/HCC area if #Tampa would build an electrified grade-separated #rail line connecting TPA, Int'l Plaza, RJ Stadium/HCC, Midtown, Downtown, and Ybor City.
Pretty sure it is cheaper & easier to clean up this planet than it is to establish a private space company, fly to a different planet, figure out how to quickly terraform a dead planet, figure out how to create a permanent atmosphere on a dead planet, establish cities, & fly people to said planet.
#Running races should agree on a standard size of #quilt square and offer that instead of (or in addition to, for a price) race #T-shirts. A lot of runners already turn their T-shirts into quilts, so why not just create a nicely designed one that can easily be added into a quilt?
Tampa (and Hillsborough county) needs to limit its traffic lights to 30 seconds per direction. Some of these lights go on for 2+ minutes for major roads, and as a pedestrian/cyclist waiting to cross, unprotected in the 90° sun, it sucks to arrive at your destination needing to towel off the sweat.
Why can't streaming remotes (Roku/Shield/etc) simply leave the dedicated app buttons blank & let us decide which app we want it to open? The giant Netflix button is taking up space that I could link to an app I do use, or I accidentally hit it & it opens up an app that I don't want.

So a sports org can decertify results if fraud was found, but Congress can't decertify election results if fraud is found? How convenient for fraudsters.

What's next? Dems wagging their fingers & saying "You better not do that again" while MAGA, in fact, does that again?

It's a lot easier to convince people to give up parking minimums in order to encourage higher density growth if a city's public transit system is fast, efficient, & widespread. Tampa needs a grade-separated rail network if we are going to be able to handle the rapid growth we are experiencing.
Governments are SUPPOSED to fund the things that are necessary, but not profitable. Who cares if a high speed rail network isn't profitable? It's still necessary.

I pay my taxes just like car enthusiasts. We fund highways, which, by themselves, are not profitable.

Why not HSR?
If I make a payment online, I feel like a company should be required to provide a formatted PDF showing the company name, the timestamp, a breakdown of what was owed, what was paid, & the confirmation number, at a minimum. No more bad screenshots. #consumerRights
Franklin St in #Tampa should be #car-free from Brorein St to Palm Ave. There are 2 major roads on either side for cars. Can pedestrians & cyclists have just one street in the city for human-scale movement? Businesses could even use the sidewalks for more seating & outdoor markets
The same goes for NYC and other majors. If you live there, I have no problem with you doing your home race. If you live elsewhere, though, do it once or twice, then find another race. We all only have one shot on this planet. Don't be greedy with experiences.
Hot take: If you do not live in the Boston area & you run the #BostonMarathon more than 2-3 times, I'm not impressed by you, but rather disgusted. You've done it & now your inflated ego is preventing someone else from doing it just so you can say you've done it 5+ times. Let someone else have a go.
Marie Antoinette may or may not have said of the poor, "Let them eat cake," but Gayle King definitely asked if we had ever been to space

People say that in order for intercity HSR to succeed over cars, mass transit has to already be in place in both the start and end cities, but somehow, these same people are able to function without their personally owned vehicles when they travel across the country by plane.
Think of how many species were taken from us from previous generations: Dodos, Woolly Mammoths, Saber Toothed Tigers, etc.

We are doing the same to future generations.
We need public transport, higher density cities, zoning updates, clean renewable power, & a reduction in consumption.
